Wow. Amazing stuff Derek and all - thanks for sharing these pictures.

In the North Terrace picture above, in the background there is the old hut to the left of the East Terrace roof. In my memory it was used as a Police HQ, a waste paper collection hut and a creche.

Anyone know what it was originally built for?!

It was originally the supporters association committee room and also the office for the "Black and Amber Pool" which was run by the Supporters. The pool together with the hut was passed over to the club when we turned professional. A new supporters hut was built on the east terrace under the cover and was later extended to include the club shop. This is now the tea bar.

Don't know if this has been mentioned before, but I think it'd be a nice idea if the club gets all of these photos and a few of their own (they must have accumulated a few down the years) and make a memoriabilia photo album. I'd buy one for a few quid.

Paul Shinners daring to push Sir Nicky out of the way to score in January 1989 v Kettering, Nicky scored in the game anyway ner ner! Can you spot yourself on the North Terrace (We were allowed to change ends in those days), I can..................
The game was won 3-2 with an own goal in injury time in front of the West Bank - one of the best "stacks" ever!

I'm taking these 4 pictures from http://www.bfcsa.co.uk/ - the Leigh game (which has some great pics from games at the era - look for the match reports - these c/o Frodo I believe). One of my happiest Barnet memories, and as everyone is posting pics with them in so shall I (pic 3).

I will endeavour to dig out my old programmes and clippings to see if I can find anything original. But in the meantime.... one of Barnet's greatest ever 'releases' if that makes sense from Graz and supporters alike! Amazing how the weather just seemed 'sunnier' back then.

Reading all these, I too have many memories since my first match in 1964 (sad too as it would have been 50 seasons at Underhill for me in 2014). I am proud that I was one of the 10861 versus Preston but also one of the 243 v. Milton Keynes City in 1976 our lowest ever (probably) Saturday league attendance.
I used to live in Barnet Lane behind the grandstand (in a house I mean ) and my dad Eric was a supporter from the 1930s to the 1990s and was at Stamford Bridge in 1946 to see them lift the Amateur Cup

Before him, my granddad George started by watching Barnet Avenue at the old Queens Road ground just before the 1912 amalgamation with Barnet Alston. So not quite 1907 but close. Then there was GGD W.J. who played for the black `n` violets in the 1890s but thats just showing off really.

Anyway I suppose I will give the new ground a try for a while. In the meantime how about this old photo of the Underhill ground around 1915,(fence, side cover and top goalposts just visible in the background) ands bits of Barnet fair in the foreground.

A fine view of the old Grandstand (packed!) 1947/48 Barnet 5 Sing Tao 3. Apparently the Sing Tao keeper was still saying his prayers when the ball flew into his net for the first goal. Lester Finch is in the crowd behind the two keepers.

Some more pictures of the main stand under construction. The man with the broom in the first picture was Arthur Walters who was club chairman at the time. It was him that decided that the club should turn professional.
