Underhill Photo Memories
Underhill Photo Memories
I am going to try and post a few Underhill memories over the next few weeks just to get some of the old Tear Ducts moist...
Here is Freddie Pymm who went on to be our trainer in the 1950's in front of the East terrace c 1947.
Feel free to add what pictures you have everybody!

Do you know when the East Terrace got a roof? Presumeably those in the houses behind weren't too impressed.
Re: Underhill Photo Memories
Is that his own head? I bet he was good at headers.

Here is a photo from the 1980s showing Les Eason and The Westbank in the background.

Les Eason and the West Bank sounds like a 60's tribute band!
Re: Underhill Photo Memories
Nice to see the old clubhouse before it got mysteriously burned down
Barnet showing all the flair of Rupert-the-Bears trousers, but lots more style!

...and the fabulous tea hut where the Durham Suite now stands. The quality of the goodies there has never been surpassed. As a small child in the early 70's, the highlight of the week was my dad taking me to footy and treating me to a crusty cheese roll at half time from the tea hut. It's funny how memories like this can be so powerful.THB wrote:Here is a photo from the 1980s showing Les Eason and The Westbank in the background.
When you're arguing with an idiot, make sure the other person isn't doing the same.

Isn't that the South Terrace with the shed before it got blown away?
I remember the crusty cheese rolls. A cup of tea and truly crusty roll was a tanner. Ah, the good old days.

Re: Underhill Photo Memories
I always wondered how the West Bank suddenly became the South Terrace, my only conclusion was that the world revolved around Underhill.
Ah, those crusty cheese rolls, I had forgotten all about those.

Yours truly with the greatest player to wear the Amber and Black in the 1990s and quite probably my lifetime.

Dave Strevens in the Barnet shirt in the top one, fairly sure that is Gary Elphick in the green-ish shirt on the right.
My aging brain has lost the other names...
EDIT:
Steve Fitzgerald in red on the left; Steve Boon blonde at the back.... one to go!
