Aldershot (A) The Match Thread On Top Of Mount Rushmoor
So...... Tuesday sees the bees hit the road again as we travel sarf of the river to Hampshire's Rushmoor District to take on Aldershot Town FC.
Aldershot have had a reasonable start to the season and sit on 13 points with 7 points from their last 6 fixtures. After losing Ged Stokes, they will be looking to rebuild and consolidate in the mid table of the national league with a potential run at the playoffs. Aldershot was the scene of one of my favourite away wins as Simon King drilled home from the edge of the box for a 3-2 victory. As a fairly local club we have also sent our fair share of players their way. The only one on the books is Jack Barham, a Barnet fan favourite who tore it up in NLS and has forged a moderate career in the national league. She bloom somewhat came off the rose when he aggressively celebrated after scoring against us and he has now gone from hero to villain in most bees fans eyes.
The most notable thing about Aldershot is that it is an army town. While we once again will be sequestered along the touch line we will be barracked by the Aldershot fans in their lovely drum stand. Barring any major upsets I would hope we can win this one but after Saturday's game and with our record there a point would not be the end of the world.
After Saturdays exhilirating win against the 85%ers confidence must be running high among the squad but I would imagine there are also a few tired legs. It was nice for us to finally win there and get that particular agressive monkey off our back. In terms of team lineup with Rhys Browne likely out I don't think we need to be too funky in team selection and I would not be risking Kabamba from the start. Given Deano's cotton wool comment I would not be surprised to see Chapman rested for Hobson who will probably be getting more game time than he has had so far but I would not want to see this happen given how good Chapman is. Maybe earlier subs are the way if needed. I think Coker will be rested though and expect to see Cropper starting unless Deano pushes Kenlock further up the left flank.

-----Cropper-----------Shelton-----------Hartigan----------Glover----
-------------------------Chapman----------Brunt--------------------------
-------------------------------------Stead------------------------------------
Subs: Gilmore, Coker, Kizzi, Rye, Hobson, Kanu, Kabamba
Doing this one by car. Hoping we can solidify our place at the top of the league.

That's poor communication then. I'm all for standing on a terrace but that's scandalous pricing. Should be £18 tops for those facilities (or lack of).jerroll wrote: ↑23 Sep 2024, 10:44it was £21 until 7.45 pm yesterday had BFC told us!!EastBarnetFan wrote: ↑23 Sep 2024, 10:26 £23 to stand in an open terrace in the corner. If its raining they will probably open the covered section of terrace.
Re: Aldershot (A) The Match Thread On Top Of Mount Rushmoor
Wonder whether DB will use the squad and put Tavares and Chapman on the bench given their injury records and play Kizzi and Hobson instead.
Also expect Coker to not be involved although think it’s 50/50 between Kanu and Cropper and think Nicki from the start would be too big a risk given Browne is likely out for a minimum of a few weeks.

Re: Aldershot (A) The Match Thread On Top Of Mount Rushmoor
Agree we need to rotate and think Chapman especially we need to protect. No need to start Nicki yet. Also want to see Steady get a rest soon tbh.
That all said, i'd love us to take x6 points this week and look back at a great month of September.
Not reading too much into the table (yet) as I expect FGR/York to keep the pressure on, but it does feel like we're really starting to warm up and i'd love a decent win tomorrow night, suggesting an improvement in our away form. I know we can do it.

But I have learnt not to rely on club for away ticket info so I always go on the upcoming opposition web site.
