Easy money….

Post: # 355357Post hoppy »

….hopefully!!!
Here’s the early odds for the National League 2023/24.

Chesterfield. 5/1
Hartlepool. 8/1
Rochdale. 9/1
Oldham. 11/1
Woking. 12/1
Southend. 12/1
Dagenham. 16/1
Eastleigh. 16/1
BARNET. 18/1
Boreham Wood. 18/1
Solihull. 18/1
Bromley. 20/1
Ebbsfleet. 22/1
Halifax. 25/1
AFC Fylde. 25/1
Kidderminster. 28/1
Gateshead. 40/1
York City. 40/1
Oxford City. 50/1
Dorking. 50/1
Wealdstone. 66/1
Aldershot. 100/1
Altrincham. 100/1
Maidenhead. 100/1

Bees at 18/1….prob about right.

Over-priced, I would say Gateshead at 40/1 and Altrincham at 100/1.

Under-priced, Hartlepool and Rochdale both low prices because they played in the mighty EFL last season. Southend at 12/1…hmmm, who knows how their season will pan out. I would want more than 12/1 to tempt me. Similar comments for Dagenham at 16/1.

I know nothing about betting but don't the 2 relegated clubs usually feature near the top of the odds? I guess Scunthorpe were favourites last season and look what happened to them!

Early days yet, one thing for sure is it's goint to be a lot tighter than last season and that appears to be reflected in the early odds

This time last year Wrexham were the overwhelming favourites at 6/4, Chesterfield 2nd favourites at 17/2 Notts County 3rd favourites at 9/1. So the bookies pretty well got it right. Scunthorpe were 33/1.

Well I can see Chesterfield being favourites but I have my doubts re Hartlepool and Rochdale who seem to be up there based on past history.

100% agree, becbee. Perhaps you should have a very small flutter on one of the 24 teams. You never know!!

Don't know much in regards to betting as well
But would agree on Chesterfield being favourites
Also think Oldham will be up there next season.

This is very interesting in the fact that it is telling us that it is very open and literally anyone can win it.
Recruitment is key.

Something in the back of my mind tells me that Gateshead are worth a spare fiver at 40s.

Gateshead great bet at 40/1

Big one for me is a double Barnet and Notts to be promoted this year

Barnet on their own as well

Chesterfield are rightly favourites. They have now added Will Grigg and Tom Naylor to their squad with Andrew Dallas also going to sign on a permanent contract. Their attack is now on a different level to anyone else in the league in my opinion (Colclough, Manderville, Dobra, Dallas, Grigg all could and should be EFL players). God knows how much theyre spending this year but its not sustainable.

Apparently they have a couple of very wealthy fans/benefactors who are directly funding these signings.
Grigg could be on fire in this league but his recent goal scoring record doesn’t exactly inspire fear.
