Prohibited items and dangerous behaviour
Prohibited items and dangerous behaviour
I saw the message on Twitter yesterday about prohibited items and dangerous behaviour yesterday. Now today I have received a detailed email from BFC on the same subject.
Does anybody know what has prompted this? Have all clubs been asked to do this or has something happened of which I was blissfully unaware? Or is it connected to our visit to Wealdstone this Saturday ( police intelligence?)

Whilst we’re on this topic, on Saturday they done a bag check to me and they told me to remove the cap of one of the drinks in the bag. Very weird no?becbee wrote: ↑22 Mar 2023, 10:31 I saw the message on Twitter yesterday about prohibited items and dangerous behaviour yesterday. Can't remember which away game it was recently but things were thrown on the pitch when the opposition scored but beyond that we are generally a very tame bunch!becbee wrote: ↑22 Mar 2023, 10:31 I saw the message on Twitter yesterday about prohibited items and dangerous behaviour yesterday. No bottle tops has been a policy since we moved to the hive in fact the club terms and conditions prevent items bought elsewhere being taken into the ground.bfc_mo wrote: ↑22 Mar 2023, 10:33Whilst we’re on this topic, on Saturday they done a bag check to me and they told me to remove the cap of one of the drinks in the bag. Re: Prohibited items and dangerous behaviour
I suspect a lot of this is pre-emptive.
The run-in can be an exciting time of the season when teams are doing well. Equally, it can also bring out the worst in a minority of spectators.
It's a reminder that there are lines which shouldn't be crossed. Our fans have always been very well behaved.

Barnet showing all the flair of Rupert-the-Bears trousers, but lots more style!
Re: Prohibited items and dangerous behaviour
Our fans have been regularly end up on the pitch during goal celebrations all season, but nothing that could be considered an ‘invasion’ and it’s all calmed down pretty quickly. Probably just a pre emptive message

I remove the bottle top of my lads drink before we approach turnstile each game and pop it back on when inside. I've lost count of the bottles of coke being thrown onto the pitch.....
Re: Prohibited items and dangerous behaviour
My first “pitch invasion” was on 14th November 1964 after Athenian League Barnet beat Southern League Cambridge United 2 1 in the FA Cup.
Any other Bees fans on the Underhill pitch that day?

I was definitely there that day but probably didn’t join in with pitch invasion.

Back in 1964 I was a very young teenager. I thought I knew it all.
Some decades later I now know that I knew the square root of nothing.
With the benefit of age I now know that I should not invade the pitch, but if we win the play offs/FA Trophy all of my decades of knowledge will disappear far quicker than those stewards trying to catch me.

Re: Prohibited items and dangerous behaviour
I remember a Danny Baker phone in on dangerous things taken in to grounds. They were less restrictive back in the 70s.
One was a chef who turned up to an evening game after work with a roll of carving knifes (I think that was at Underhill).
Another was a bloke with a chainsaw - he'd borrowed it and was returning it !
