Unless we have covers, incredible that the club thinks it should go ahead at the moment. Every bit of park/grass/mud is rock hard solid. :cold: :cold: :cold:

Our recent investment in undersoil heating seems to be paying dividends......
Hadley off. Just posting this as it is the closest postponement to our game.
Harrow Borough is also off tonight.... !!
Mmmmn!
The Club have just tweeted that “the stage is set” for tonight’s game and the Met Office are forecasting that the temperature will only fall below freezing in Edgeware after 10pm this evening. It’s difficult to see it being called off unless someone is tweeting stuff without anyone at the Club having a look at the condition of the pitch.
Those apps are rarely that accurate unfortunately. Live data from Edgware shows the temperature has just dropped below zero in the last 10 minutes.

Very good work from the ground staff if this game actually goes ahead.

Do we actually have covers?
Yes. They were stored behind the old south stand.

They should make a decent difference. Once they are taken off you’d think the activity on the pitch would potentially prevent the ground from freezing?

Not good when you have 120 mile round trip for a game !! I just find it very hard to believe, with games all around being called off, that the pitch at The Hive is currently playable, let alone later.... BBC weather app is showing Edgware as being at -2 degrees @ 19:00.

My question is, has the pitch been looked at today, or are we just waiting for the match officials to arrive? The other games have had early inspections, and I would have presumed playing a team with a 3 and a half hour trip each way, we would have had an early one too.

Of course, the downside of a postponement is another game to slot in, along with Oldham following our Trophy success, so I guess I can understand they are leaving it as late as possible to get the game on.

That was called off 23 hours ago due to a waterlogged pitch.

Tweet about the game being on National league TV has been swiftly deleted. Maybe a sign 😬

And now match day programme tweet deleted. Would be great to have some clarity from the club. PR has massively improved but this could be a huge own goal..

Work movements mean I'm here early.

The grass is clearly frosty however when I kicked the ground 10 mins ago it still had some give in it.

Just saw a group of 5 official looking people walking around the pitch pointing then walked off towards the tunnel.

Is it possible to start the game early? Inconvenience but could ensure the game can be finished
