Yeovil on Tuesday
Re: Yeovil on Tuesday
Unless we have covers, incredible that the club thinks it should go ahead at the moment. Every bit of park/grass/mud is rock hard solid.

Those apps are rarely that accurate unfortunately. Live data from Edgware shows the temperature has just dropped below zero in the last 10 minutes.DerekRocholl wrote:The Club have just tweeted that “the stage is set” for tonight’s game and the Met Office are forecasting that the temperature will only fall below freezing in Edgeware after 10pm this evening. It’s difficult to see it being called off unless someone is tweeting stuff without anyone at the Club having a look at the condition of the pitch.John Hunt wrote: ↑17 Jan 2023, 14:58Mmmmn!

Very good work from the ground staff if this game actually goes ahead.
Re: Yeovil on Tuesday
They should make a decent difference. Once they are taken off you’d think the activity on the pitch would potentially prevent the ground from freezing?

Not good when you have 120 mile round trip for a game !! I just find it very hard to believe, with games all around being called off, that the pitch at The Hive is currently playable, let alone later.... BBC weather app is showing Edgware as being at -2 degrees @ 19:00.simples169 wrote: ↑17 Jan 2023, 15:40 weather warning in place from 6pm tonight for ice, temp at 6pm is freezing due to go down to -3 so it might be a case of turn up and see but the piych will not improve from what it is now
My question is, has the pitch been looked at today, or are we just waiting for the match officials to arrive? The other games have had early inspections, and I would have presumed playing a team with a 3 and a half hour trip each way, we would have had an early one too.
Of course, the downside of a postponement is another game to slot in, along with Oldham following our Trophy success, so I guess I can understand they are leaving it as late as possible to get the game on.

Re: Yeovil on Tuesday
That was called off 23 hours ago due to a waterlogged pitch.
Re: Yeovil on Tuesday
With Yeovil travelling, i can see the game starting but will it finish.
Re: Yeovil on Tuesday
Tweet about the game being on National league TV has been swiftly deleted. Maybe a sign
Re: Yeovil on Tuesday
And now match day programme tweet deleted. Would be great to have some clarity from the club. PR has massively improved but this could be a huge own goal..
Re: Yeovil on Tuesday
Match day programme back on twitter not much mobile reception for 1st long part of my journey to thl. Not even easy to retreat to Moranos if all.goes bad- feel for any Yeovil fans travelling

Work movements mean I'm here early.
The grass is clearly frosty however when I kicked the ground 10 mins ago it still had some give in it.
Just saw a group of 5 official looking people walking around the pitch pointing then walked off towards the tunnel.

Re: Yeovil on Tuesday
Pitch inspection at 18:00 now. No chance I reckon.
Re: Yeovil on Tuesday
Is it possible to start the game early? Inconvenience but could ensure the game can be finished
