Title race and promotion
Looking like Stockport will finally win league on Saturday.
Who goes up in play offs will just depend how things go on the day.

Re: Title race and promotion
I reckon Stockport will have to wait until Sunday.....play offs as usual will be a lottery, Wrexham favourites if they don't get first but Solihull on a great run will fancy it, leaving Grimsby, chesterfield, notts co. with another year in the NL.
Re: Title race and promotion
A Wrexham supporter mentioned on their message board that there was a season when they finished 18 points ahead of Luton, only for Luton to beat them in the P.O.s then sing "you had more points than us, ha ha ha ha".
Hopefully not but they are currently 15 points ahead of Chesterfield so ,whilst unlikely, it could happen again.
I'm expecting Stockport to do it on Sunday - but if they slip up then I'd expect them to fall short in the P.O.s too. The best chance of success is with clubs going into them on a high.

Chesterfield have become a shadow of their previous selfs under Paul cook, shame we played them both times whilst James Rowe was there and got suitably beaten, they looked nailed on for promotion until he left.
Re: Title race and promotion
I'd like to see Wrexham go up as champions and Solihull or Halifax from the playoffs.

Re: Title race and promotion
Wrexham completely dominate the limited NL coverage on the BBC so I will be glad to see them go, as I think they will via the play-offs.
Re: Title race and promotion
I suspect it wouldn't make any discernible difference. BBC just show what the local journos send them. The absence of Wrexham stuff from BBC Wales will just mean less NL news unless the BBC England regions start sending in more.
I remember when either Teletext or Ceefax's ( don't remember which) local sports news had large coverage of Tonbridge Angels! Clearly for the same reason.
Re: Title race and promotion
Wrexham are the 3rd biggest club in Wales historically so only competing with Swansea and Cardiff for column inches. Next two will be Newport and Merthyr.becbee wrote: ↑12 May 2022, 14:48I suspect it wouldn't make any discernible difference. BBC just show what the local journos send them. By comparison the number of clubs in London means our coverage will always be limited.
Re: Title race and promotion
Well, Dartford won't be in the NL next season, they lost on penalties to Chippenham tonight.
Kidderminster were beaten by Boston so no trip to Aggborough next season.

Re: Title race and promotion
The famous Aggborough pies are no more.
Also Eastbourne and Chorley are also out after defeats last night to Oxford City and York respectively.
York had attendance of 6,394- their highest for 15 years.

Kiddy changed caterers recently, so we wouldn’t have had them anyway!
Re: Title race and promotion
That's what I meant - they were unable to agree terms with the caterers so had to change suppliers at the start of last season.rudebwoyben wrote: ↑13 May 2022, 08:41Kiddy changed caterers recently, so we wouldn’t have had them anyway!

Hope Brackley come up from the North. It's hardly 'North' is it

A few years ago I didn’t want Brackley to come up when they got to the NLN play-off final. Now I do, a new club to visit.WillesdenBee wrote: ↑13 May 2022, 09:57 Hope Brackley come up from the North. It's hardly 'North' is it
