Really like it, nice with the name on the back too. I’ll be getting it.

It’s a nice colour/amber to be fair, not bad. 6/10.
Personally, I don’t think we’ve made a really decent shirt since the Hummel ‘100 years of Underhill’ shirt. That was really classy. Anyway, I’m more of a Errea/Umbro classic shirt fan. For example, I think AFC Wimbledon’s shirts look stunning this year, as they did last year. I find Stanno too modern in their designs personally.
It would be nice for the club to do an open call submission or a fan vote one year. Even with a third kit. I think we’d all like that wouldn’t we?

Kits basic with no imagination. Since we’ve been with Stanno it feels like we get something straight out of the generic catalogue. It’s a shame as a lot of teams are putting thought and effort into their kits and there’s a lot of really nice ones in my opinion.

Cracking kit
Re: New kit now released
Not for me, and the strange broken stripes is a bit weird.
Still, if we do well on the pitch, it probably won't matter.

I want to be good, is that not enough.

What would you prefer? A picture of mr bumble and a green and yellow strip with a Rochdale badge?northantsbee wrote: ↑05 Jul 2025, 20:58 Boring same old same old. Unfortunately I won't be buying one again
Not sure how much variation you can get on a football kit.

Exactly. There's only so much we should expect from a Stanno kit. I think it's ok.beeman wrote: ↑05 Jul 2025, 21:06What would you prefer? Disagree. I think the new shirt is fine, you don't like it much. Other fans will also have differing opinions. A fan vote would satisfy few and leave others feeling that their opinions had been ignored.Berlinbee wrote: ↑05 Jul 2025, 19:09 It’s a nice colour/amber to be fair, not bad. 6/10.

I like the Stanno kits enough though I'd say the last three are a bit of a variation on a theme.
If and when we get back to Underhill, it would be a great opportunity for the club to be really ambitious with the kit and attract significant attention. See Port Vale who achieved a unique balance between retro and contemporary for their 150th.

It’s a fair point though— I mean, yeah the kits are ‘fine’ in as much as they somewhat resemble our club colours and they’re football kits. They do lack imagination though. It would be nice to see a different away kit design other than just the same but in purple and white. Don’t you think? Also, so many clubs today make a real effort when it comes to visual identity and culture. Like many others, I love the fashion culture side of the game. Fashion is after all, about identity and for a club like ours, playing outside its borough, that sense of identity probably matters even more.beeman wrote: ↑05 Jul 2025, 21:06What would you prefer? Also in recent years, fans have voiced frustration over the lack of consistency in our colours — with varying shades of amber and orange diluting what should be a strong visual identity. I think we are falling behind other clubs in this area. But hey I’m just a designer, what do I know.

Love the stripes have returned but shame it cuts off in the middle due to the sponsor and the fact it’s still not amber! 6.5/10.

Surely a fan vote would, by definition, satisfy the greatest number of people, because the kit would correspond to the most popular option? Currently, it is (presumably) only based on the opinion of one person, which seems far less less democratic!becbee wrote: ↑05 Jul 2025, 22:04Disagree. I don't think it's unreasonable to want a degree of creativity / a bespoke quality to our kit designs. While this year's shirts aren't necessarily bad (there are much worse out there!), plenty of clubs up and down the pyramid are producing far more stylish options. Umbro and Hummel, in particular, are kit designers that seem to do a good job at this. There's arguably a solid business case for breaking the mould a bit, too, because fresh new designs will surely sell better than kits that are similar in look to previous years.beeman wrote: ↑05 Jul 2025, 21:06What would you prefer?
