I suspect Idris as a forward who’s looked good in our high profile games will attract a much higher fee than DC which may mean for the latter TK has a big dilemma on whether the cash outweighs the loss.

Personally I think Idris needs to step up. It would do him the world of good. He’s a target currently for opposition and is doubled up on regularly because so much of our play goes through him much like what happened to EMC.
Playing at a higher level he won’t be so obviously the the main threat and will probably thrive being able to play 1v1

Maybe be in quite a minority here but I think we played better as a team without Idris, and him playing at a higher level may suit him too.

There’s a weird irony that the better Idris played in the key matches the more we relied on him and the more predictable and defendable we become.

Would help if he had a better left foot & could vary things and beat the man on the outside then cross the ball but he only has the cut inside trick - call me old fashioned but i prefer my winger to get to the byline and cross the ball for on running attackers!

That’s on DB for always playing him on the left. He’s said previously that he likes Kanu coming inside. I agree that he’d be much more effective getting to the byline, which would mean playing him on the right.

He’s been utterly ineffective the couple of times Brennan has started him on the right. Those occaissions have rarely lasted more than 45min

Is it because that is what he is being instructed to do. I always say if he mixed it up he would be so more lethal and put doubt in defenders mind - use to be a full back and hated wingers that could do both. On the occassions he has gone on outside (Solihull Moors play off - Kambaba's shot), Bromley - Pulled down and should have had a penalty. I know that he can use his left foot - might not be his preferred but can use it.

I have always really rated Kanu, clubs we play seem to value him higher than his own club, agree there are things he could do better but these things should of been worked on at the training ground, maybe as stated at higher league club the coaching will improve him, along with as stated he won't be targeted by opposition.

If we played a 4-4-2 we could inter-change the wide players. Kanu would be really dangerous cutting in on his left foot from the right. But playing wing-backs makes swapping players a bit more difficult. There's more defensive risk of being caught out unless both WB's are comfortable doing it.
Barnet showing all the flair of Rupert-the-Bears trousers, but lots more style!
