problem is fullback is often a position you just shove someone as a short term fill in rather than use the loan market. wouldn't be suprised to see Sam Granville play as a stop gap fullback - his Dad could give him advice how to play left back!

Agree with your post above but credit to Hails for posting a message to Joe widdowson. The commentary team who were brilliant said it was poor tackle but was not intential. And they said he was not that sort of player. Was not there so maybe those that were if they had any kind of view convincing this. But not every player sends public statement of apology.
I'm nonetheless struck by the statistical quirk that of the players who commit acts of GBH on the pitch, only a couple (Duncan Ferguson, Roy Keane) actually are that kind of player. All the others are choirboys that bad things happen to.

Presume his Dad is Danny, then?! I see Granville Sr signed for Hemel in 2009. I wonder if he played for Brennan, who first became The Tudors’ manager in 2010. If so, it must be pretty unusual for a 41 year-old manager at this level to have managed two generations of the same family!

According to the BBC site we played in a 4-4-2 format with this line up ! Does anyone have a clue how they could have reached that conclusion?

They have used exactly the same numerical formula with Stockport's team:

Back 4 - 3,4, 9,7

Midfield 5,8,10,15

Forward 23,27.

I don't know much about Stockport's players but I do know that no 9, Paddy Madden is a striker, not a centre back!

With both teams it's purely lazy reporting, probably by someone who wasn't even at the match, with the thought that nobody would notice.

BBC always do NL formations as 442 and put the players in shirt no. Order, sky sports are pretty bad with it as well

Well, looking at Widdowson’s goal-scoring streak for us this season, perhaps he ought to have been played up front!

How does putting Flanagan in defence work under that approach ?

DB's pre match interview said that he's at home and comfortable and seeing a specialist next week.
