BeesPod interview Dean Brennan and Dave Anderson
Re: BeesPod interview Dean Brennan and Dave Anderson
Dean makes an interesting point about recruitment for next season having started as early as November. This is what other clubs are doing and for too many years we've been left behind to pick from what's left when a new manager comes in during June.
There's clearly a desire now to have a longer term plan for the squad. Long overdue, but as he openly says, if we take our eyes off this season and lose 10 in a row, the nature of this business means you won't be around to see it.
A lot of people were questioning the De Havilland signing, but it's clear now that this season is all about exposing him to the rigours of 1st team football through loan moves etc, with a view to making a difference next season. I think Dean alluded to Ryan spending his entire education in academy football where "nobody tackles". But it's still down to the player to prove that he's better than what we already have.

Barnet showing all the flair of Rupert-the-Bears trousers, but lots more style!

Do we need a DOF going forward then? I would guess that being the manager would (and I hope) takes alot of his time up.Mem Beespod wrote:I asked Dean directly if he needed the help of a DOF and he strongly said no.b4life wrote:One thing occurred to me after listening was whether there was an answer in the interview to the Director of Football question. Maybe having someone as experienced as Dave Anderson as the No 2 means that Dean/TK doesn't need to replace HK directly?
That to me makes me think that the role of DOF is not a full time job?
Also the role in the past has not lasted long eh Alan Mullery, John Still (twice)

Re: BeesPod interview Dean Brennan and Dave Anderson
Finally had a listen to this tonight and well worth the time, well done chaps for putting it together.
Two very decent guys, one I know very well and come across really well, if you get a chance ask the players how much of an influence Dave Anderson is around the place, great that he's enjoying being a part of our football club.
Clear to understand as well I think we'll be in much better shape this summer than we have been for a few years with regards recruitment unless they lose the next 10 games!!
Was known DB wasn't keen on working under a DOF or HOF, whatever you want to title it so I'm not surprised he said no.
We've enough about us to finish mid-table and if DB and DA can get the targets they want, then that kind of run we went on prior to Yeovil I hope we see more of next season.

Top listen, thanks fellas. Learnt a lot about them.
I worry they don’t have the top end experience a little, should we ever close to challenging for a tittle or playoff spot.
Again, Great work.

Well Dave Anderson will no longer be an influence around the place. He has gone, by "mutual agreement".tonbridgebee wrote: ↑20 Jan 2022, 22:40 Finally had a listen to this tonight and well worth the time, well done chaps for putting it together.

I wonder if we will know the real reason for his departure.

Perhaps it was mutually agreed by TK and DB.

Re: BeesPod interview Dean Brennan and Dave Anderson
Why don't club just come out and say then?
Re: BeesPod interview Dean Brennan and Dave Anderson
Because amongst other things TK is bad at communications. Ultimately I would imagine that this was about money and how many staff he feels we need in the back room.
Re: BeesPod interview Dean Brennan and Dave Anderson
It is also possible that there are confidential aspects of this.
In any case, when anybody leaves a job, it's surely appropriate to allow that person the privacy to decide how much they tell anybody. Especially if there was any ill will surrounding the departure.

Re: BeesPod interview Dean Brennan and Dave Anderson
Agree completely. If your first instinct after losing your job is to make a blog or podcast I think that probably says more about you than your employer.
We do have a sizeable coaching team now, did we really need DA since the permanent appointment of John Dreyer?

Seriously? maybe he's been treated appalling by the employer and maybe he wants to get his point across ? just saying
Believe me DA is not one of the bad guys he's a top coach and top man and hope he gets the podcast out asap because you'll be surprised at what you'll hear!

Top coach? The guy managed at Aylesbury and Hendon not Barcelona.Patel89 wrote: ↑04 May 2022, 09:47Seriously? maybe he's been treated appalling by the employer and maybe he wants to get his point across ? just saying

Sure there will be the usual misgivings in the podcast, but it just doesn't seem the most professional approach to dealing with the matter. If it was that bad you would have thought he would have left long ago.
I'm sure he's a lovely chap, but not sure why that would be relevant.
Re: BeesPod interview Dean Brennan and Dave Anderson
So because he managed aylesbury and hendon that doesn't make you a good coach? lol sound if you don't work for bill gates your not go at computers- not really relevant or would you say relevant?antbfc wrote: ↑04 May 2022, 12:06Top coach?
