Yeovil chairman has pulled funding and said the club are only surviving (inc. the staff and players pay) off money they are making in their cup run, everything's coming up bees.

The Chairman has issued a statement asserting that the claim he said this in a meeting is untrue and that he’s doing no such thing. They clearly are in the midst of some uncertainty in respect of the possible sale of the club, I hasten to add.

Interestingly, in his statement he says that they need crowds of at least 3,000 to sign the players needed to be compete for a top 7 place!

But Yeovil are just one point behind us in the form table and have just beaten Wrexham so it will be a very tough game even if they are short of cash.

Maths is not my strong point but I make it...

P13. W7...D3...L...3. F 17....A 14....Pts 24

PPG 24 points divided by 13 matches = 1.84

When we reached the play offs in 2019/20, our PPG was 54 points divided by 35 matches = 1.54

Regarding the 17 league goals scored under Brennan's regime these have been scored by 10 different players.
Marriott 4
Hall 2
EMC2
Brundle 2
Widdowson 2
and 1 each from Richardson-Everton, Bloomfield, Powell, Greenidge, Flanagan.

So if my maths is right (it's normally not) we're looking at 66 points if we carry on in the same vein.

Which in some seasons is enough for the play offs.

I make it 70 points , my calculation as follows.:

23 clubs this season so 44 matches.
To date played 20, points 26.
To be played 24, under DB PPG 1.84, 24 X 1.84 = points 44
26 + 44 =70.

Even better! I'm a mathmatical pessemist.

Yep, in a normal season you’d say we still had a shot at the play-offs, in light of our form since Brennan took over. However, this is not a normal season. In fact, it’s a completely bananas season, with eight teams on what would normally be top-3 form.

70 points after 44 games would, in most seasons, put you very firmly in the play off places in the National League. This year it won’t be enough for seventh. If we are to achieve that total, however, there will be lots of wins to enjoy in the months to come!
