But the past year has been slo mo.
Re: Fisher Athletic (away)....
Ah memories. Managed to get Macca Murphys shirt as a momento, proudly framed along with the programmes from that game and the Crewe opener. Happy days.

If in the future someone creates a soap opera about a football club they will surely base it on Barnet FC's last thirty years.
The three promotions, three relegations, Stan Flashman, Barry Fry and the many, many other managers, not forgetting the so many returns of Mad Dog. KBA, the financial problems, the vote to stay in the league, TK the saviour, TK's attempts to move the club to Copthall and South Underhill, his dealings with the Council including shafting them with the purchase of Underhill for a derisory sum, his sale of Underhill and the eventual move to The Hive, the antagonism of many fans, Back to Barnet, the fans themselves (Steve Percy etc). All of that and so much more off the pitch, whilst on the pitch those memorable games subsequent to Fisher such as Man City, Man United, Norwich, West Ham and so many others in the League Cup like Brighton away,, in the FA Cup Sheffield United and Brentford.
All if that and I haven't even mentioned some of the fabulous players who have graced the Underhill/Hive turf. There must be so many other incidents that would feature in the Beestenders soap opera. If it ever came to TV three nights a week it would enthrall footy fans across the country.

4 promotions 4 relegations surely!

Of course, I had forgotten our one year in Tier Three of the FL.MCB wrote:4 promotions 4 relegations surely!
There must be a myriad of other things over the thirty years that has gone to the back of my memory.

I've only had 3 promotions and 4 relegations, so i'm owed a promotion to even things up.hoppy wrote:Of course, I had forgotten our one year in Tier Three of the FL.MCB wrote:4 promotions 4 relegations surely!

5 Play Offs, no Play Off Finals hurts though. Zero Wembley Appearances. No FA Cup game at Arsenal or Spurs is on a secondary wishlist.

That was without doubt one of the best days of my life. The tension was unbearable but the relief when Gary Bull scored that worldie!
