Re: National League Season Ended
Surely at that point the ethical thing for clubs to do is to furlough any players they aren’t keeping on a short term contact so that they still get income?

Yup, I'm not sure if it's possible, but giving players out of contract a short extension and furloughing them would regain a lot of support vs our previous actions.

Strong rumours that conf football won’t return until after Christmas.
Along with lower league games. Club will need to hibernate for many months.

First question will be are you Barcelona, Real Madrid or PSG?
Second will be are you Man Utd, Man City or Liverpool?
Third are you Chelsea?
Fourth are you Arsenal ? - we've told you before you're only fit for the Europa League
Fifth are you Spurs?
Sixth will be if you have not been listed above we've never heard of you, you cannot join in i.e. Leicester, Wolves, Sheff Utd

The only way a team should win the title... is if they actually win the title. Playing ‘good football’ doesn’t grant you that right. Liverpool... Barrow... it doesn’t matter. Start handing out titles to those who haven’t officially won and the integrity of that league is permanently compromised.Roy57 wrote:I hope your last sentence saying " only positive is Liverpool not winning the league " was tongue in cheek. They are 25 points clear and played some of the best football I have seen for many a year. The game against Leicester away were they won 0-4 was great foitball. And would be abeesknees99 wrote:Agree! Very disappointing decision, especially when you consider August could be too soon for mass social gatherings like football matches.
Barrow fans think they have a divine right to promotion when they haven’t actually won it, and could realistically be caught by Harrogate - and I think on some level they know this.
The only positive would be Liverpool not winning the league
Total travisity.

That's an entirely different point.
You said the only positive was Liverpool not winning the title.

No Politics.
People are dying and we should all be thinking
about that.
Doesn’t matter what your political persuasion is,

Re: National League Season Ended
Problems already exist for next season. Say ‘mass gatherings’ are allowed to recommence in Spring next year, aren’t we going to regret having scrapped an >80% complete competition with an exciting run-in to come in favour of a competition that it quite possibly simply won’t be possible to hold?simples169 wrote:if true then this season should be finished otherwise the same problem will exist for next seasonBEEGONE wrote:Strong rumours that conf football won’t return until after Christmas.

Rather than starting a season in Feb/Mar/Apr 2021, they’ll surely just write it off and wait for August and 21/22, meaning even longer to wait for football and longer to wait for some much-needed revenue for the clubs (and no play-offs and possible trip to Wembley for Barnet FC!)

I'm with Jerroll. The governmnent are the ones who are supposed to be managing this crisis and they've not been doing a great job of it.

I agree with jerroll. It's been an absolute clusterfuck.
Boris aligning himself with an even bigger buffoon is like TK putting his trust in McTwat.
Have you seen his record?... It ain't good.

Presumably someone asked them what they thought might happen and that was their guess. Doubtless if someone asked other Chairman they'd get different guesses. Nobody knows what will happen and there's no point in taking idle speculation as being anything other than idle speculation.BEEGONE wrote:The rumours came about from the Accrington, Plymouth and Havant chairman’s.jerroll wrote:too many rumours not enough FACTS!
