Re: Ball Boys - A solution
I would gladly volunteer. Get to stand and watch footy for free, what's not to love? Free? As a special view is being offered you would probably have to pay a premium and buy a club tracksuit and undertake an expensive training course and pay for your own water! Then I retract my offer. I remember ...

Re: Move smoking area away from food
What I observed at the tea hut was that the person on till was fine The young guy on the grill simply had no experience in cooking burgers and it's not the time to train someone up unless you have another experienced Fraser Toms hand too. He had to be constantly helped even flipping them by the sen...

Re: Move smoking area away from food
Ah, was a few bites in before realising and was already late for the second half to make a complaint (due to all the waiting).

Re: Move smoking area away from food
Agree with the smoking but a bigger issue is the generally chaos around the food on the Friday. 2 massive lines formed around the food hut, and we joined one for 10 minutes before I realised this was a collection point and not ordering. This was not clear at all (no signage) and everyone in our line...

Re: Automatic promotion changes
Fascinating. Can I ask why this was the case at all and not 1 up/1 down? Sounds very unfair looking back and looks like it mystified people at the time too.

Re: Automatic promotion changes
From what I've read, there was a time in the not-so-distant past when no one was guaranteed promotion, and it went down to a vote for non-league clubs to go up. How dodgy is that! I'm picturing 80s decor and a smoke-filled meeting room with men exchanging envelopes...

Re: Scunthorpe United (Hive) The What's in A Name Match Thread
I guess the distance and the need to take time off work to get there for KO will have a huge impact on numbers.

Re: Bromley (Away) The Hot Club Time Machine Match Thread
How are those goals allowed at this or indeed any level? Awful and risk goals being incorrectly disallowed.

Re: Bromley (Away) The Hot Club Time Machine Match Thread
Not sure what all the fuss is about regarding the Bromley kids and the banter, I rather enjoyed it. Rather all of the back and forth than a dead silent game. As a kid, I loved being in the East Terrace central pen near the away fans, all the songs, and jibes at the traveling support. As long as it d...

Re: Scunthorpe games moved
Yes, I do remember them games when I was younger now you mention it. Hopefully during the WC the same logic is applied as people need their footy fix. Anecdotally, my normal Friday night crowd seem up for it (Scunthorpe game). The lure of some beers, burgers (?), and football is strong it seems. Pul...

Re: Scunthorpe games moved
Friday night games are quite the novelty. Could the club do something to promote it? E.g. ticket and beer for £X? It's effectively a Friday night out.

Re: South Stand
£800k to convert? How much does it cost to remove the seats and put new barriers up + painted yellow lines. Surely not £800k.
