Re: Play Offs Display
I didn't wish to come across as negative before and as stated before, I really hope it's a massive success. Thinking about it, we did get 3,733 for the P.O. match v Borehamwood last season which was a Tuesday night quarter final ( when we seemed less likely of overall success.) We should get a far b...

Re: Big games tonight
Apparently according to the Aldershot programme notes last Saturday, Aldershot have made an official complaint regarding Gateshead's statement / conduct.

Re: Play Offs Display
I'm not sure where the 800 people to hold a flag behind the goal are going to come from - or maybe 400 will each hold 2 flags? But it sounds like if it comes off it should look quite spectacular.

Re: Big games tonight
I seem to remember that whilst we looked likely to escape, there was a strange situation that if we and Bury had particular score lines, we'd finish level on points, goals for and goals against and there was talk of an outside chance of a play off deciding match at Walsall ( as in being between the ...

Re: Big games tonight
It's certainly true that all three of those opponents will be tough - an in-form Altrincham, Solihull with the best away record in the division, or a Gateshead side who seem to have our number, based on recent meetings. But I'd be intrigued to know who the management team would prefer to face, afte...

Re: Big games tonight
Would be nice for Oxford if they could get a result and guarantee us 2nd place finish. I'll be cheering for Eastleigh. But really it's just so good to be able to go into today and Saturday feeling relaxed.

Re: FC Halifax (Club Tropicana) The Milk Float Match Thread
Seems fair enough, given they are both school nights and the matches could go to extra time and penalties. Anyway as stated above, it doesn't affect us.

Re: LUKE GARRARD to leave wood
Someone could very well go down with 53 points, which I imagine would be tough to take! A bit like when we somehow went down from League 2 with 51 points, despite there only being 2 relegation places. In NLN the 4th / final relegation place is between 3 teams, all with 1 match left to play, 2 curre...

Re: FC Halifax (Club Tropicana) The Milk Float Match Thread
Listened to the Halifax manager's post match interview. Loved how he blamed their slow start ( and so conceding 2 goals ) on the Accrington hospitality. If we get them in the P.O. semi we'll have to go to town with the Welcoming Mat!

Re: FC Halifax (Club Tropicana) The Milk Float Match Thread
Halifax were toothless but we did exactly what was required. Perfect game plan, executed superbly. 2 early goals, clearly identifying their weakness from wide areas, another assist for Coker and another goal from a long throw. Then we simply just sat in a shape and restricted Halifax to very very l...

Re: FC Halifax (Club Tropicana) The Milk Float Match Thread
Echo the Congratulations. As far as I'm concerned, we have been in the top 3 all season so we deserved to finish there. What happens from here could go any way, all the teams involved will be equally determined, Play Offs are a lottery. Fingers crossed.

Re: FC Halifax (Club Tropicana) The Milk Float Match Thread
I know Chesterfield have sown the title few weeks ago, but results since, lost 4-1 at Dorking, lost at home to Kiddiminster, lost today at Wealdstone, It's poor. They talk about the integrity of the league. This isn't showing integrity. It's unfair on the clubs who played them earlier. Thank goodne...

Re: Football agent/Intermediaries fees 2023/24
Did we used to make a point of not paying agencies for a long while? I think we did. Can’t remember when. There are comments on here dating back to 2011 suggesting TK doesn't like agents fees I think we all change or at least modify our opinions on many things over 13 years. They likely were easier...
