Re: No cup replays
Ultimately, I believe the decision to scrap replays will lead to more small teams going through. This is based on the chances of winning a penalty shoot out being rather higher than that of winning a replay against a bigger side. This isn't an argument in favor of this decision, I think it stinks. I...

Re: Ex-Bees (2014 update)
Good for EMC winning EFL cup And Ronnie Edwards, presumably RDH got something for warming the bench as well. Barry Fry (on his 79th birthday) said after he’s visited Wembley 7 times & won every time! Shame none were with the Bees! Should we reach the final we should invite Barry to be an assist...

Re: Maidenhoof (Away) The Sparkes Fly Match Thread
Credit also to Maidenhead for the way they treat supporters. They may have a decrepit ground but they get the best out of it. This! I've really enjoyed my visits to Maidenhead. The ground is a bit ramshackle but they are welcoming and I love not being segregated so I can change ends at halftime - I...

Re: Blunt about Brunt
For me the key to getting the most out of Brunt is to play him where he can be effective which is as an attacking midfielder. He tends to struggle when he is played in a deeper position, which has been where he has been played in recent games (due to injuries in the main.) When playing just behind a...

Re: Maidenhoof (Away) The Sparkes Fly Match Thread
One of the reasons were second is that we’ve had very few draws. We’ve lost more games than you’d normally expect for a team in second, but won most of the other games. Maidenhead have drawn twice as many games as us, despite that recent record.

Re: Cropper v Hall-Johnson
When we recruit next for next season I would suggest wing backs in an area we should be looking to upgrade. None of HJ, Cropper, Winter or Coker strikes me as a top of national league/league 2 level - equally none of them are without merit.

Re: Eastleigh FC (THTS) The Return Flight to Sunderland Thread
That second half was terrible from us. But result ultimately all that matters. Laurie was excellent considering he’s been out in the cold. Play like that in the playoffs and it’ll be over in a heartbeat. Much improvement needed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk The time is 5pm on 4th May. 15,000 ...

Re: Eastleigh FC (THTS) The Return Flight to Sunderland Thread
Feels odd at the lack of excitement despite being second. Maybe it's the inconsistent run since November which has dampened the spirits and/or the poor home crowd and atmosphere that doesn't quite give it the feel of a team so high up. Would there be more good vibes if this was all happening at Sou...

Also think the last couple of games show just how important Pritch is to the team.

Re: Eastleigh FC (THTS) The Return Flight to Sunderland Thread
Lawrie Walker carrying on where he left off against Southend... Their goal looked suspiciously offside to me. Was there a defender off camera playing him on? The Eastleigh player received the ball well inside his own half. You can't be offside in your own half. Very poor second half performance - t...

Re: Marvin Armstrong
I for one am sad to see him go. I think his performances this season where hugely impacted by a lack of confidence - possible because he'd worked out the management team didn't really believe in him anymore.

I for one am delighted England 'C' are playing next Tuesday because I can't make the Hive. I'm hoping they treat the fixture with the importance that it undoubtedly holds

Re: Bromley (Away) The Heads, Shoulders, Bees and Foes Match Thread
Assuming Brennan isn’t telling outright lies Okimo has a problem that requires a scan - even if the scan is clear, it he fact that it is needed at all suggests that it isn’t likely that he’ll play on Tuesday. He said Pritch and Thompson were both 50/50 and we knew both were carrying knocks, but give...

Re: Streaming
I'm not sure it's obvious that streaming is hurting our midweek attendances at all. That would suggest that there are a significant number of people in the following category: They live close enough to The Hive to attend, but aren't dedicated enough to have a season ticket or pay £22 - however they...
