Reynolds wasn’t offered a new deal. He was never getting a new deal. He was told in January to find a new club. He was offered an extension to play in the play offs which he decided against.

Dagenham have new owners now. Who knows whether he simply walked away because he was only offered a significant pay cut to carry on. The fact that it took him a few weeks to find a club suggests he wasn't one of those who had something lined up already. It would be fascinating to know how his new package compare to what he was on at Barnet and what he was offered at Barnet. We will probably never know though.

But he wasn't offered anything at Barnet beyond a temporary play off extension. Whether he would have made the difference to us winning at Notts County, who knows, but i'm glad he won't be here next season, and expect an upgrade.

Sadly I agree. Reynolds was on very decent wages. Under normal circumstances we could have easily got a better player on those terms but in a post Covid world, having him off the wage bill helps.

To add to this, Reynolds was a constant pain in the arse behind the scenes, good and bad.

Whilst we can never know, he wasn't a match turning sort of player so unless by chance he'd happened to intercept the two attacks which led to Notts Co's goals, I doubt it.

He was one of those "meh" players who will be quickly forgotten - nobody will ever boo him when he returns with D&R but we'll not take much notice of him either. I wish him well, except when playing against us.

I think Jim’s point is that the unavailability of Reynolds meant we had to move Harry Taylor into defence and replace him wit Adams, who has not been at Harry’s level. Losing Reynolds had the knock on effect of destabilising our midfield
