Kabamba new deal
Kabamba new deal
New 3.5 year deal for NK! Great business.
Re: Kabamba new deal
Just seen that video on Twitter. Excellent news! Now let's get him fit!
Barnet showing all the flair of Rupert-the-Bears trousers, but lots more style!

Much as I love Nicke, I think a three and a half year extension for a 31-year old is completely insane.

Re: Kabamba new deal
He'll have turned 34 a few months before the end of this deal. Personally, I don't think he's the kind of player who will decline significantly with age, seeing as his game is more about smart movement and physicality than searing pace.simmosenior wrote: ↑29 Feb 2024, 18:48 Much as I love Nicke, I think a three and a half year extension for a 31-year old is completely insane.
Re: Kabamba new deal
As great as Nicki has been, and as happy as I am he has extended his contract, I would of expected 18 months of two years max. But good news anyway
Re: Kabamba new deal
I have to agree - imagine thats the only way he ll sign, but more often than not this comes back to bite us!simmosenior wrote: ↑29 Feb 2024, 18:48 Much as I love Nicke, I think a three and a half year extension for a 31-year old is completely insane.

Re: Kabamba new deal
As you say, I don't think there would have been much incentive for him to extend his stay with us without a long contract on the table. Otherwise he'd be better off finding a League Two club who pay higher wages, and would presumably be willing to offer a one or two year deal.antbfc wrote: ↑29 Feb 2024, 18:58I have to agree - imagine thats the only way he ll sign, but more often than not this comes back to bite us!simmosenior wrote: ↑29 Feb 2024, 18:48 Much as I love Nicke, I think a three and a half year extension for a 31-year old is completely insane.

Re: Kabamba new deal
He's playing and scoring, has been generally fit and the new deal keeps him ours for the foreseeable future. A good move by the club IMO. It's a shame a question wasn't raised about his return, which hopefully is soon. Were 7/4 favourites to get promoted along with Chesterfield and Kabamba could be the man to fire us to Wembley glory.

Making a name for himself as something of a Barnet legend. Great news.
Means we’ll get a fee if anyone really wants to take him off our hands.

I agree. Even if he isn’t at the top of his game into is final year, he would still be a good alternative option to whichever younger player we recruit around that timethebeekeeper wrote: ↑29 Feb 2024, 18:53He'll have turned 34 a few months before the end of this deal. Re: Kabamba new deal
Very possible that the last of those 3.5 years is an option rather than guaranteed.
Re: Kabamba new deal
Does it? With whom? Not a dig but no-one in recent years springs to mind, TK is very astuteantbfc wrote: ↑29 Feb 2024, 18:58I have to agree - imagine thats the only way he ll sign, but more often than not this comes back to bite us!simmosenior wrote: ↑29 Feb 2024, 18:48 Much as I love Nicke, I think a three and a half year extension for a 31-year old is completely insane.
