I understand why Brennan trusted our 2 wide centre backs against their 2 wingers but it completely backfired. Don’t usually see Collinge have a bad game but Sinclair had the better of him every time. Hartigan’s clear off the ball problems have been masked by the positives he’s brought us on the ball, but today he was really poor. Perplexing in my opinion that Dale gets subbed off over him consistently when Dale is so much more robust defensively. Poor performance overall and we couldn’t get our passing going but we’re not notts or Wrexham, these games will happen, no need to panic. We’ve been the better team by far 7/9 times this season which isn’t bad going.

When your system creates one vs one battles all over the pitch and your best centre back (Collinge) has an off day against the oppositions best player (Sinclair), you’re always gonna struggle. It’s worked in the games where we’ve won those battles, but we didn’t today. Our midfielders, who are usually very good at retaining possession (Hartigan and Pritchard) were not today. Our most creative player (Brunt) couldn’t get involved today, Our most influential attacking sub was awful when they came on (Kanu) and our keeper can do better with 3 of the 4 goals, you’re going to lose. No need to overreact. One of those days where defensively we were poor. No need to send anyone back anywhere, no need to go slateing people left right and centre. Rochdale were marginally the better side. If RHJ scores that chance at 3-2, we probably win the game and if we don’t commit 10 players into the box with 10 mins added on time to go and concede from it, we probably get a point. Fine margins. Now time for a reaction. 3 points off top, 2nd in the league. Time for calmness

I wouldn’t say they destroyed us, they were just better in both boxes. They also looked like they wanted it more, when you’re at the top you’re there to be shot at and teams up their levels and we need to get a hold of that, which we haven’t on the road. We look so suspect at the back and it’s not through individuals it’s tactically.

Totally agree,individually the backline are top players, but it's now there set up, conceding far to many goals, agree also about knowing what games like today were it would be acceptable to come away with a point, but to play such a high back line and keep getting caught out with simple balls over the top, also in certain games player selection needs to be considered, Zak Brunt was poor again today, he was pressed and not given space, so today he should of been on the bench. Walker had probably his worst performance in a bees shirt, but everybody is entitled to a poor game once in awhile. Wynter also had a poor one, don't understand the high press when games are 0-0 can see why when loosing as chasing the game.

You can write it off as a bad day at the office but the fact is our backline is worryingly Jekyll and Hyde. Impenetrable one day, leaking 3/4 goals the next.

Sorry to say Laurie looks miles off it. Dodgy positioning, poor distribution and not making nearly as many crucial saves as last season.

Ditto Pritchard, doesn’t look the same player at all.

The only positive was some clinical finishing from Nicke. I wish that RHJ chance had fallen to him.

And time for Walker to be dropped as he is miles off it. In the comfort zone after his new long term contract perhaps.

Hopefully we go all out to batter Aldershot on Tuesday night and show some character.

Good thing we're not prone to knee jerk reactions isn't it? I for one am prepared to cut these boys a bit of slack considering we are currently second and playing some of the best football I've seen the Bees play since the fall of the Berlin Wall.
Not sure one bad performance changes that.
The way Brennan sets the team up leaves us vulnerable to days like this if we're off it and today was clearly a bad day.
Lose to Aldershot and Halifax at home I might start worrying but let's just calm down a bit shall we?
A bit of perspective is definitely needed. Oldham have signed a striker from League One and are third bottom, whereas we have pissed most teams off the park so far this season.
Four points minimum from the next two home games and we can forget this ever happened.

Didn’t go or follow it today as working. But win Tuesday and Saturday and things looking rosy again. We won’t win every game. Well done to the 169 bees who made the trip. As said above no need to panic, bad day at the office and by the sound of it beaten by the better team on the day.
