Has he really offered up his fees to go to the Barnet players, or is this last minute PR stunt? Why couldn't he have made a similarly toned announcement to the all the fans?

Of course his first priority is to himself and his family. He said he was here for 8 matches, if he'd walked away at 5pm on 7th May we'd have wished him well, regardless of whether we'd survived or not. Sure, we most probably wouldn't have taken 7 points from the last 3 matches without him, although it's arrogant of him to say so. But what annoys me is that by his own admission, he'd been out of work for 18 months, no-one had returned his calls, etc. We put him back into the shop window, we gave him a chance when nobody else would. For that reason alone, he have shown the decency to have told Notts Co that he'd love their job but only from 8th May?

Prehaps he suspected that walking out on his contract meant he wasn't going to get paid anyway. Very generous indeed!

Also I bet TK was paying him a healthy salary. Let's face it he just wants to try and make a name for himself as a manager as he did when he pi**ed off to Brentford. A couple of years from now he'll be taken on by a struggling League 2 team, it will be wild circle for him. He would not be able to cut it in the Championship and that's why no club wants him from there. Safe to say though he will not last long at County!meden_820 wrote:Also says in the article that Tony offered MA a longer contract, kind of makes a mockery of the idea that he was going to be unemployed again within the month?
Also whose to say we wouldn't have got 7 points with PF in charge, he's done stranger and better things than that for the club before!

Fairclough himself for one. His discussion with TK about appointing Allen was an admission he'd run out of ideas, else he'd be managing us again now. He's ten times the human being MA will ever be, but part of that is knowing when he can't do anything more, and fair play to him. He's an asset to the club, just not as a manager anymore.beeline wrote:Also whose to say we wouldn't have got 7 points with PF in charge, he's done stranger and better things than that for the club before!
