Back to the drawing board yet again then.
Re: John Still
JS suddenly 'retiring' gave it away that he had just been put on gardening leave. Didn't take a genius to work that out.

Re: John Still
Maidstone's new DoF will, as per their statement, make signings and pick the team, but won't take training (and presumably won't manage from the touchline, if Still is retired from front line management).
Sounds like a recipe for disaster, poor Hayrettin. If he thought the Braintree job was a tough gig...

Re: John Still
Nope. He was pretty much sacked. Dreadful appointment in the first place. We need some fresh impetus and 'another' statement from TK confirming what actually happened over Christmas and what his intentions are regarding our next managerial appointment.Masuka wrote:JS suddenly 'retiring' gave it away that he had just been put on gardening leave. Re: John Still
A lot of people seem to be getting wound up about the departure of a person they didn't want as manager anymore and who had been appointed to a role they didn't think was needed at the club.
If I was new here I would think this was odd.

I have to agree with this. His departure has very little impact.Hiveoccupier wrote:A lot of people seem to be getting wound up about the departure of a person they didn't want as manager anymore and who had been appointed to a role they didn't think was needed at the club.

To me the DoF role given to Still always seemed like a convenient get-out for the club to remove him as manager and avoid paying him off.
The only real impact this has is on Currie maybe not having the level of support he wants, although I'm not sure how much he would have consulted Still anyway.
Appoint a decent assistant for Currie and that should remove any real concerns.

Hakan was approached by Maidstone on Sat evening. That'll please a lot of Iron fans. The club Chairman will make an announcement today/tomorrow.

Apparently it's a straight swap for Maidstone's caretaker Tristan Lewis.EssexVillaBee wrote:Hakan was approached by Maidstone on Sat evening. That'll please a lot of Iron fans. The club Chairman will make an announcement today/tomorrow.

I think that was obvious at the time. TK and JS have been mates for years. Clearly didn’t want to embarrass himLoudmouthBFC wrote:If this does happen, then it just proves that he was pushed and didn't jump.
