FA Trophy 3rd round

Post: # 265860Post John Hunt »

Who do you fancy?

I would like an away game at a new place to visit to a team in a lower division.

Any of

Blyth Spartans
Spennymoor Town
Rams bottom or Weymouth
Brackley Town.

I appreciated the team that we started with. I hope the manager takes a similar approach in round 3 .

After the fiasco of the last round it maybe Ramsbottom can't get their team off work for their replay and concede, as Weymouth is a long midweek trip for them. Weymouth away would be good. Blyth or Spennymoor away would be tough...

I reckon Chesterfield is on the cards. Hemel Hempstead wouldn't be too shabby

Hemel or Brackley away - not too far to travel and new grounds.
Having not played Stockport for several seasons, maybe we could get them at The Hive twice within a few weeks.

Hemel or Carshalton away would be nice.

Normally I'd like Spennymoor or Blyth, but the weather's got to turn sometime & Spennymoor's pitch is notoriously bad. Can see 3 or 4 attempts to play that game giving us a real fixture headache. So it had better be one of the 3g's at home, Carshalton, Maidstone or Harrogate.

(Perhaps I shouldn't speculate as when our ball was pulled out last Monday, I said to my other half, 'Anyone but Brentford would be good'..)

No one ever looks at Brackley and says, “that’s a great away trip.”

Hell of a lot closer than Spennymoor and Blyth Spartans though!

We played Hemel away in Herts Senior Cup. It was freezing and we were spanked in spite of fielding a strong line-up that included Adomah...

sensible comment about dodgy pitches so a home tie against a 3g team is logical.

By the sounds of things we will be in for a cold snap by 3rd round weekend and usually the North-East is worse affected than us down here in London.

Well, Hemel would be a new ground for those of us who don't go to away county cup ties!
