Nicholls leaves

Post: # 251432Post MCB »

Considering the decision was made by Martin Allen it's fair on all parties - maybe he doens't want to play for Still, wants to play FL, or Still doesn't want him. Decision shouldn't have been made when it was.

Wonder if he was the under contract player dog was talking about signing. Wonder if he was the player JS was talking about last week!I'd imagine the fella from St Albans will now sign & replace him. Shame as Nicholls did a lot to win people over back end of last season. As a brummie he might be fed up of living away from home!

Strange one and gutted he's gone.

Will he end up at Chesterfield? He's a brummie so closer to home.

Would make sense. AN was excellent at times last season. A good player for NL level.

Considering the number of points we collected as a result of his goals last season, I'd have liked to have seen him stay. Potentially could have done well for us in NL. It'll be interesting to see where he ends up, just hope it's not Chesterfield.

Shame to see him go. He was a natural finisher, but different managers kept shunting him around the pitch.
Without his goals we would have been dead and buried well before the final match last season.
At least Still has time to assess and fill his place before the start of the season.
Still no word on whether Akpa Akpro signed his new contract or not?
Assuming Akinde leaves, that leaves us with (an almost fit) Tarpey, Coulthirst and Barham fighting it out up front.
For me, I'd still like to see one more forward in that squad.
Barnet showing all the flair of Rupert-the-Bears trousers, but lots more style!

Akpa-Akpro is gone, confirmed ages ago.

Have to sign a name striker up front. Pay the money otherwise no goals.

Akpa Akpo was released and not offered a new deal - confirmed on Friday at Q & A

A shame. He proved many of us (including me) wrong and showed that he had a knack of getting in the right place at the right time to score goals.

Simply the best finisher at the club after Akinde.

We definitely need at least one other established striker now once Akinde monies received.

I've far less of an issue with him leaving when he's signed for a L2 club than I had with the idea that we'd just released him for no reason.
Hope it works out for him.
