I said it the other week, when mart was sat up in the back row of the East stand during the first half on the last day of the season, I reckon someone leant across and said to him, ‘oh Mart, give us a call, we’ve been impressed whith what you done here in 8 games... call us it will be worth your while’

It's going to turn out like Eastleigh did for Allen, if not worse. Chesterfield are a complete shitshow, and are more likely to go the same way as Stockport and York than get promoted.

Very poor from Allen who has yet again decided to chase money rather than do his due diligence.

I see that his first job was to grant about 10 free transfers to players whose contracts weren't even up. That's in addition to the three they announced last week.

I think that's what he once referred to as 'taking a chainsaw to the hedge'
Barnet showing all the flair of Rupert-the-Bears trousers, but lots more style!

Can we assume from this that he has a sizable war chest to replace them? Any of them who would do a job at Barnet?

We certainly don't want their striker that we saw at the hive.

He couldn't hit a cow's arse with a banjo!

Dennis the menace?

I know he had a mare! But he had a solid goalscoring record last season didn't he?

Edit. Yeah, he got 19 in 44 league 2.

I did not know that!
What on earth happened at the hive?
Maybe he didn't put his contacts in because he could have played all night and not scored!

News story from local paper. Apparently bet was placed 24 hours after we played Spireites.

My guess is that it will be very hard to definitively prove any wrongdoing even if there was something dodgy going on.

What's the betting that our new manager lasts in his new job longer than Chesterfield's new manager does in his?

I think a lot of people are being quite naive and deluded in thinking Martin Allen's Chesterfield wont be right up there next season.

I fully expect them to be up there - and even win it - but much of that will depend on Mad Dog not doing another disappearing act, if they get a few sticky results.
