Guess we'll never know as so much is undisclosed. But Omar Bugle who Akinde outscored went for £750,000. I can imagine a team like Barnsley pitching £250k for him.
Bogle went to Wigan who were in the championship.
Have to agree that given all the circumstances that anything more than £100 thousand for Akinde would be surprising.
Although very few players in Lg1 & 2 go for more than this figure i think that there are exceptions. eg Tom Nichols from Peterborough to
Bristol Rovers which although undisclosed is reckoned to be in the £350 to 400 thousand bracket. A case of the exception that proves the rule I think.

Tom Nichols and Omar Bogle are both younger then Akinde hence the price.

Akinde will be 29 in July.

A club like Gillingham is a fair deal for him as closer to home and a decent level where he can grab more goals to be a star there.

Can't see him going for mega bucks.

Good luck to him, but just not at Chesterfield, I dont mind them coming up in the play-offs as long as we’re champions.
Well, he just might owe us a slight apology for suddenly leaving the club this season and going to Eastleigh, because he just felt like it. That was the origin of our decline towards relegation, the team never recovered from that disruption, it was the worst time to be abandoned by a manager. This had both technical and psychological consequences for the players and the team as a whole. There just wasn't time to find a suitable replacement and things just went from bad to worse. He wanted to be the hero who saved us but the damage was done. It is ironic that he felt the effects of his decision of leaving for Eastleigh on the day we were relegated. What goes around comes around as the saying goes.

There were enough opportunities for the club to make the right decisions and react to Martin's departure to Eastleigh. At the time, a lot of us felt it was the right time for him to move on. We'd gone a bit stale.
The interim appointment of Rossi & Henry was a fair one, but we dithered and left them both to it for too long. Then we brought in Nugent which was a strange short term appointment. When Allen departed, any other club in that division would have gone out and selected a permanent successor straight away, and the interim bosses would have been in there for 3-4 games max before returning to their usual roles.

Despite this, In the summer, we were actually in a reasonably good place. There was a feel-good factor, some decent signings on paper, and we got off to a reasonable start before we lost our way during Exeter (H). We had another opportunity to put a permanent successor in place in time for the January window, but instead we persisted with McGhee and then Westley. The January transfer window was wasted, and Martin was brought in to play a very unfavourable hand. The fact we got to the final day is down to his man management and the belief he gave the players.

Martin owes us no apology for departing to Eastleigh. What followed in the 12 months or so afterwards was not down to him. It was down to poor decision making in selecting the right managers at the right time for our club.
Barnet showing all the flair of Rupert-the-Bears trousers, but lots more style!

It is quite astounding that from his departure to Eastleigh in late 2016 until his return in early 2018 the Club made 6 appointments to the manger role. It must be a record of some sort ?
