Player Chants
Re: Player Chants
Instead of "Joey Devera (clap clap clap)"
"Charlie MacDonald (clap clap clap clap)!"
"Charlie MacDonald (clap clap clap clap)!"
Re: Player Chants
I agree:
Tuesds wrote:Forgive me if I've missed it, but I haven't noticed a Charlie Macdonald song establish itself yet. With a 2 syllable : 3 syllable name, the chant we used for Junior Agogo, Joe Devera* etc is perfect for him, i.e.
"Charlie Macdonald *5 claps*" and repeat!
It's a simple one, which always help it catch on!
* a second syllable was of course needed for Devera's first name, hence "Joe-EY Devera..."

Song for Luisma:
To the tune of Louie, Louie by the Kingsmen.
Louie Luisma,
Oh baby that's the way to score,
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

^exactly^Tuesds wrote:In fairness to Mr Smart, I ought to admit that my first reading of those words was that the meaning was that 'he may be Portugese, which is clearly a problem, but we'll let him off because he loves Barnet FC.' I imagine that must have been Mr Smart's reading of them too, hence his point bout substituting black or Indian for Portugese in that context. Clearly that's not what was meant, as you have explained, but we might not be the only two people who would infer that from those words, and you wouldn't have the chance to explain it to everyone! UsingKingsburyBee wrote:Black is more to do with race; portuguese is ethnicity.Mr Smart wrote:Have an issue with the line "he may be portuguese". Replace that with black or Indian and you wouldn't chant that.KingsburyBee wrote:Me and Oli have created some chants so hope they're good enough
The song isn't directed in a derogatory way and is just saying that even though he's portuguese he's barnet by heart.
Nothing wrong in any way.
'He is Portugese
He fu@&ing loves the Bees'
..., for example, still scans ok, doesn't it?
In that instance, for example, it really would be a case of 'just stating his nationality', which Obviously would never be a problem, just as stating that someone who is black is black or someone who is Indian is Indian obviously wouldn't be a problem!

Re: Player Chants
How about if we actually sing any of these wonderful songs ?????!!!!!!!
Re: Player Chants
How about we have some extra voices on the terrace to assist us?!
Re: Player Chants
We need one for Andy Yiadom that is short so everyone can join in because he has been brilliant so far this season.
Re: Player Chants
Went to Cardiff v Derby with a friend on Saturday and they sung
I said maybeeee, you're gonna be the one that saves meeee, and after allllll, you're my Jamie Ward (to the tune of Wonderwall - Oasis)
I reckon we should sing
I said maybeeee, you're gonna be the one that saves meeee, and after allllll, you're my Macdonalddddd.
It sounded ace when a 2,000 odd Derby fans sung it. Easy for everyone to sing too.

We used to sing this for Jamie Campbell back when Oasis were in their prime (1995-1997)!giantbee wrote:Went to Cardiff v Derby with a friend on Saturday and they sung

Like that one, works for Yiadom as well. That guy needs a song.
Re: Player Chants
There's a few players that I hope don't feel under appreciated and Andy is definitely one of them.wearebees wrote:Like that one, works for Yiadom as well. That guy needs a song.
He is 1 that I have no doubt will do an even better job in league 2 this time if we do go up. Only just turned 23 as well.

Keeping it simple:BeeArmy wrote:We need one for Andy Yiadom that is short so everyone can join in because he has been brilliant so far this season.
There's the one sung on the South, 'Oh, Graham Stack, used to play for Arsenal but he's alright now' - haven't got a clue what the tune is called, perhaps someone could clarify or describe it better, but:
'Oh, Andy Andy, Andy Andy Andy Andy Yiadom' fits, is clear enough for others to pick up and for the man himself to hear the appreciation
