I have once tried a so called sort it out for you company and have to say I was more than just a tad disappointed. They wanted 40% of any rebate.I still spent considerable time filling everything in on line, and replying to their numerous requests for further information which dragged on for quite a while. After 6 weeks they finally said that there was nothing owing to me.
However, after a bit of investigation and enquiry with HMRC who were, as stated in other posts, very helpful , I recovered £300 back payment for my allowance for working from home. How did the so called professionals miss that?
My advice is do the homework yourself, ask around colleages and HMRC
