Bouncing between ITV and BBC teletext, scanning the radio waves when you couldn't get to an away match, the local paper and a programme that was occasionally worth reading. Then came the twotogether web site which had a forum on there.
I remeber when Ceefax started doing live scores of Conference games and thinking how far we'd come.

The link to the club board is:
http://www.barnetfc.com/page/forcelogin ... 31,00.html

however every time I have checked it (not many) it just seemed to contain the trolls trolling themselves. Sad. Hopefully Reckless won't lose anyone from the Prediction League.

And good for the club re Facebook - better late than never and well worth supporting. :gd:

Re the "old days" - I and a few others used to do a paper newsletter using Barnet Press cuttings to keep folk over here in some kind of touch - however when the internet news came along that quickly became VERY old fashioned! We are living in an amazing age.

It sounds like they are going to replace it with something, but what? Whatever they do it can only be an improvement on the old place.
We also want to provide a family-friendly site where fans can discuss the happenings of the club, offer their views and have the chance to chat with other supporters. With this in mind, it is worth pointing out that absolutely no swearing or member to member abuse will be tolerated and we hope that you will all embrace the new site

Fuck that !!!

Gerry, you never fail to bring a smile to my face :Pardon: :Pardon:

I must be going soft and senile - atwinge of sadness afflicated me with this news - the old messageboard was a good laugh for much of the time - pointless arguments with Hainault Bee and even more so with CLB, the odd real troll, normally from carlisle, taking a good battering, Beegone's elevation to the peerage, Craigs circular debates etc -all a rich tapestry. I hope they have archived it somewhere would hate to think the Johny Bee Good thread is lost forever !

Old school (orange) netbees was alright, but 'the new and improved' (white) one really has very few positive memories, and very few, if any redeeming features. The only real wonder is it didn't die sooner.

It would make great toilet roll for my posterity. 3=

Ah the days of the Two-Tegether messageboard - my first on-line Barnet experience - and Clubcall - mum still doesn't know how much I spent on it! Not nostalgic for the ptv obscenity though. Even beesbeesbees was better than the last incarnation of the board.

When I lived in Pompey in early 90s, a Sports Newspaper was out by 7pm on Saturday evening. That was a revolution to me.
