Positives of this Season

Postby Bott3rz » 14 Feb 2011, 19:19

Flicking through the posts on this board really makes it hit home how bad a state the club is in at the moment. Its the worst playing side we have had for ages, terrible atmosphere and relegation is all but a nailed on certainty. Despite all this, there have been a few positives this season so maybe we could focus on them a bit as well.

1) The fans at Stevenage... were amazing and created one of the best atmospheres in recent years showing that the club has potential
2) Winning away at Bradford. There were only 100 people there but to come from 1-0 to win 3-1 was pretty spectacular
3) The signings of Marshall, O Brien, and Holmes. In my opinion Holmes' injury has been a massive blow for us and these three young players could really come in years to come
4) The rise of Mauro

Any others??

Mikel I think you must be thinking of the first game of the 2008-2009 season, when we were 1-0 up at h/t but lost 3-1

Man Utd & a couple of decent FA Cup ties/goals but that's about it really.

Take a bow...Mark Marshall the "Angry Ant".
His efforts have improved as the season has got worse.
Never say die attitude despite sometimes disappointing end products has been magnificent.
He deserves better.... :y:

Totally agree, he genuinely looked gutted on Saturday at full time but still clapped the fans and showed his appreciation.

I'd say Marshall's in the running for Barnet POTY, though as an award it's kind of like the best vocal performance from a Spice Girl.

The one positive I can give is we've at least got time to acknowledge we're in a relegation battle this year rather than it blindsiding us like last year.

The pitch is still in very good condition. The team might not be up to much, but we have the best groundsman in League Two.
