Fans will be allowed. Just not ours. Although quite how they plan to police that...

The original list in post showed all clubs elite and otherwise.becbee wrote:St Albans are NLS so are an elite club, therefore aren't allowed fans.hoofer2 wrote:St Albans City - but they're not on your list

As it’s a ground where home fans are allowed, I imagine we could be looking at a situation where not only are we not allowed to attend, but we can’t even watch it live via a stream (other than in the unlikely event that we get chosen two years in a row for the live BBC online coverage)
Re: FA CUP 2020/21
The bit in brackets is not out of the question but I think the BBC will choose Sholing v Torquay or Ilkeston v Hartlepool.Tuesds wrote:As it’s a ground where home fans are allowed, I imagine we could be looking at a situation where not only are we not allowed to attend, but we can’t even watch it live via a stream (other than in the unlikely event that we get chosen two years in a row for the live BBC online coverage)

Is there any chance BFC cpuld bring their cameras to Leiston and do a livestream from there? Or even something simpler on Facebook? Not sure how easy it is to move the technology to other grounds.Tuesds wrote:As it’s a ground where home fans are allowed, I imagine we could be looking at a situation where not only are we not allowed to attend, but we can’t even watch it live via a stream (other than in the unlikely event that we get chosen two years in a row for the live BBC online coverage)

I don't recall ever having played Leiston before. Might be wrong. Does anyone know?

I doubt that we have played them. They have played in the Eastern Counties League and local leagues for most of their history. They only got into the Eastern Counties League in 2001!finchleyman wrote:I don't recall ever having played Leiston before. Might be wrong. Does anyone know?

Pity I was really looking forward to seeing the nuclear power station.ETBee wrote:Leiston has a lovely renovated Edwardian cinema. Nearby is also the superb Eels Foot pub. It's location is in an area devoid of light pollution so when I was there last January we could see the best display of stars I've seen almost anywhere in the World. Sadly,of course, that joy may be more difficult this year, but maybe not.

It’s a bit difficult to get excited about the cup if you can’t go to any matches!

Re: FA CUP 2020/21
The prize money takes on added significance this year.
A cup run could be huge for smaller clubs.
A non league club winning in round 1 would get a huge boost.
Shame the FA didn't weight the prize fund more toward the early rounds.
2.7 mill spent on the Final for probably 2 prem teams seems like a missed opportunity to help out pyramid football.

Stortford have a very good side.
If we both get through we'll do well to avoid them.

Fortunately Steve Percy's holiday home is in Leiston so I expect him to be there.
