Martyn Box
Stepping away from football. Sad news, but he's shown an incredible maturity in his comments. Hope he finds happiness in whatever he does moving forward.

It's refreshing to see that Boxy felt he could share that with everyone, as Graz and I discussed a few weeks back footballers are human too and for Martyn to show this level of maturity at a young age I hope will encourage others to speak up.
I sincerely hope it's not the end of a fledging football career and he makes it at some level in the future.

I feel incredibly sorry for those with mental health issues, something which lockdown must have made even harder to cope with.
Whatever he does in the future, I hope that he eventually can also return to football, even if only at a much lower level, and derive joy from doing something which his limited appearances for us showed he had ability in.

Good luck to him for the future.
Re: Martyn Box
That is sad to see, it cannot have been an easy decision.
I have suffered with depression myself in the past (although I'm fine right now) and I know that the very hardest thing was admiting to myself that something was wrong. For Martyn to do not just that but to then publicly announce it in this way must have been doubly hard.
I hope all goes well for him. Best of luck Martyn.

Re: Martyn Box
The hardest thing is to admit to yourself and to others that you need help.
It can be a lonely difficult place but with help and love the out come will be brighter.
I know.
Best wishes Martyn

makes sense as its where he;s from - might help him living around his family and friends
Re: Martyn Box
Must have been tough for him, hope he gets all the help and support he needs. All the best for the future Martyn. If nothing else this year has proved there are more important things than football.
