The source for that story is the story that was shared on here the other day. That's not to say there's nothing in it, but there's no new reporting here.

Great goal.
Interesting to see the banner behind the goal. Well, the BFCSA got its wish.
Cue abuse.

I wonder what the difference in gaffer wages is between us and what Southend can offer. It may be hard to refuse if a generous offer is made.

You can be sure his remuneration is not generous at BFC. There is little or no investment in the current squad and we know the 2 year contract reason. If he goes then just wait for Mad Dog to get in touch.

What a day that was.

Heavy thunderstorms, thinking I was going to get a serious kicking in the toilets in The Jack pub (like Danny Dyer in Football Factory - "Dorian"), Charlery scoring deep in stoppage time for the win landing a 2-1 correct score (9/1 by memory), a police escort back to the centre of the city, and a very intimidating ground. Harrison also saved a penalty.

Still my favourite ever away match. :y:

Awesome game. Always a fantastic atmosphere at the Vetch. Despite the outdated stadium, it had a certain charm. That afternoon lives long in the memory. Harrison pulled off some great saves in the first half when Swansea put us under pressure. Big Julian Alsopp won everything in the air and there was one where he nodded a corner down, and their player hit a dipping volley from outside the box which Lee saw very late. Somehow he arched backwards and clawed the ball over the bar for a corner. Their players had their heads in their hands in disbelief.
Barnet showing all the flair of Rupert-the-Bears trousers, but lots more style!

I was at Uni at Swansea then. You didn't piss around in the Swansea Jack. You'd never have got in if you were in Barnet colours, you'd normally have the shit beaten out of you if they heard an English accent. I went in on a few match days with Welsh friends and refused to speak a word. I've been to the Vetch more than any ground except Underhill. Great place to watch football, but Swansea were shite back then. I missed this game as term didn't start until a week later so was in London.
