In terms of busy-ness of schedule- the benefit of having two weeks off is probably offset by the fact that with the two rescheduled games we now face four midweek games in a row. And losing Matrevics not an enormous issue- we've covered him with Azizi in the past, and could bring a loanee if we wanted.

I think the key motivations will have been i) allowing us to have Jack in the side for the two games ii) Perhaps some players are close to picking up injuries and could really benefit from a rest. iii) Players who are currently not match fit will be in a couple of weeks time On the latter, I guess the size of the benefits and required delay basically comes down to exactly how far off match fitness some of the other players are- which the club will have a fair idea of, but we as fans aren't so well sighted on. Given the club have re-arranged both games for dates only a couple of weeks after the original fixtures would suggest the club reckons there are players who are only a week or two off match fitness. I think there is a bit of an advantage in postponing so don't object to the club exercising their right to do so.

Well then, we have a fourth player on international duty. Academy player Max Bustamante called up to Chile U15’s...

A great rest for the squad and a good experience for those involved in international set ups.

No injuries picked up, but an opportunity to broaden horizons and train with good players. Our side should be fresh for Saturday.

I hope they actually use him this time, four straight unused sub games for him.

With Cyprus U19 in action we could be looking at the Stockport game being called off.
