I expect that the request was a last-minute attempt to force a move to a Football League club before the deadline passes tonight.
Didn’t it close at 5pm? Very last minute attempt if so
The Fylde Manager has confirmed that on the morning of the Football League deadline day Rowe, who “wants to play in the Football League”, told Fylde that if any clubs made an offer on the day he would like to speak to them. In the brief interview I’ve heard, he also confirmed that he’s in the last year of his contract, and so might be moving on in January of at the end of the season.

I’d be very surprised if another conference club was his destination.

With the Cowley's leaving Lincoln and Akinde being marmite up there could we see another player back on loan?

Let's start an extinction rebellion type campaign for Akinde come back. Get you wellies on and follow him around with home made Banners. Get the bells, tambourines and drums going while singing......

"All we are saying...........is give Bees a chance......."

However, I expect that Akinde is not the type of striker Currie has been looking to bring in.

I think a Devine type striker would be great. Can conjure goals out of nothing when called upon.

Akinde got a goal and man of the match in this weekends loss at Wycombe despite only coming on at half time.

He certainly won't be going anywhere, well, by anywhere, I mean, to us.

Suggestion : We close off this thread and immediately make no mention of getting a new striker until at least January? It's one way to guarantee that we then sign a striker more or less immediately we all stop talking about it

I am sure we can find something else to moan about.

I'm sure he's improved a lot since his awful loan spell here, but 13 goals in 53 games at this level since the start of last season is nothing to write home about.

Good signing. Has grown up and more importantly bulked up since his last spell, has been playing well for Dover this season and should thrive under someone like DC.

For anyone not happy with the signing, don’t panic, he’ll be in the Kabba room within the week.

To the people writing him off already, just calm down FFS.

What were you expecting? Danny Rowe? Akinde? Kane?

We have signed the type of player we have lacked. Big, strong, target man.

OK, he probably won’t become our primary goal outlet, but he’ll be a dangerous threat from crosses - something we crucially lack - and hopefully provide opportunities for other attackers.

He’s made a great start to the season with Dover, and to be honest, with our injuries, we needed someone pronto. Pavey fits the bill.

I look forward to seeing him in action tomorrow, and hope he gets a debut hat trick to prove the doubters wrong.

Although he was terrible last time, I trust DC with this signing all of Darren’s other signings this season have been good and I believe he knows what he wants so we may be pleasantly surprised, looking forward to tomorrow night.
