Was anyone seriously bothered about tonight’s result ?

It seems like DC changed things round to look after some players susceptible to injury on an artificial surface and give others a chance to show what they can do before the season closes and they are kept, transferred or released. All very sensible and to be expected.

I’m sure we would all love to be in with a chance or promotion but all things considered DC has done a good job with the squad since taking over and it will be a season that is remembered for some big highs.

A loss will do us the world of good going forward. Cast our minds back to Halifax (0-4) at home in 2014. Allen saw enough after that game and shaped the team from that day forward. Our planning can't start though as we don't have a permanent managerial decision yet.

Would you say the same about Harry Taylor?
No I think Harry will be a mainstay in the squad. Possible captain.
Eh?!! If we have Harry Taylor as our captain next season, we might as well give up. If he's a starter next season, we're in trouble - not a player to get you a promotion by playing a leading role.
Game of opinions. I think we'll see quite a bit of Harry next season. Most consistent player we've had since he's come back from Woking and fundamental in the improved performances. Who would you nominate?

Fair enough. A new captain needs to come in. Someone who's been there and done it before (Coulson at Orient the prime example) - he's a captain.

We need a strong connection between fans and players if we are going to succeed next season. Are we this entitled that one defeat in 8 warrants slagging off the players? :?:

Good honest interview from DC after the game. Always feel like he sees the games the way us fans do. 4 games to go. Let's see the season out on a high and enjoy the summer.
Barnet showing all the flair of Rupert-the-Bears trousers, but lots more style!

Found it cringe tbh, embarrassing. Bad day at the office after a magnificent run.

The "fans" who had a go when DC and the players came over at the end should be ashamed of themselves.
Yes we were poor. 0-1 up in the first minute, it should have been an easy 3 points for us against a clearly poor Maidstone side. But we couldn't capitalise first half and second half we were shocking.
I think that tonight was just one match too many. We had an off night. One of those things. We go again on Saturday.

First 15 minutes we played like Brazil, Maidstone were awful and we were toying with them. First half fizzled out.

Second half was awful, passing go astray no communication, no passion no nothing.

If anything pleased this performance happened as we saw players who are not up to it and the last few games has glossed over. Reynolds, Robson were poor tonight. Cousins despite saving a pen was caught in no mans land for their winner.
There were a few loud moans at the end nothing that bad, however Currie will engage with fans and did talk to the individual at the end and shook hands etc. He also got a lot of encouragement from others.

Have to say that it was a really crap performance.... Really crap.

I think tonight will have made it easier for currie to draw up his list he wants to go

Whilst I would agree that Harry isn’t anywhere near captain material, he’s playing a lot of minutes which is clearly doing him the world of good judging by his performances and the upturn in results. All the while he’s filling out as he’s coming into his 20s. He could easily be the DM we need next season.

Yes it’s been a frustrating season but the likes of EMC, Fonguck and Harry (Jack was ahead of these lot) have a platform to build on now they have 20+ matches each this season.

I’m sure something has gone in behind the scenes post balloon gate. Reynolds has gone from being a waste of space to, bar today, looking like the player we expected when he first signed, whilst Robson’s form has dropped off a cliff after looking the best of Still’s signings.

I wonder if Robson has got it in the neck from his team mates for posting up the incriminating pictures?

Very much a meh performance and result punctuated by funny banter with the Maidstone fans.

The "fans" who had a go at Currie after the match need to find another club to support. Absolutely embarrassing.

lack of plan b killed us tonight, with 5 to go Sweeney had to go up top with Robson dropping into back 4. that brief glimmer of the top 7 now extinguished so time for some more experimentation - give Matrevics a game or 2 before the end of the season now Cousins' long streak has ended. Bloody Jigsaw!!

Just got back.

20-25 minutes of total football, in which Mason-Clarke looked unstoppable, followed by 25 minutes of complacency...leading to a second half of cluelessness. It looked as if Maidstone put two players on Ephron, which to squeeze any creativity out of the rest of the team.

Nice pies though...

A big positive about the match, magnificent pie chips and mushy peas. A worthy highlight. Robson and Reynolds must be among the first to walk.
