Injury update
Re: Injury update
Yeah, I reckon Tarpey could be forced into an early retirement. A real shame if so
Re: Injury update
Certainly hope not for both Tarpey himself and the club. If he does then he will be one of the best players that we have signed to virtually not play for us. Cannot for one minute believe that he will do whatever he can to try and overcome any injury!Berlinbee wrote:Yeah, I reckon Tarpey could be forced into an early retirement. A real shame if so
Re: Injury update
Tarpey joined down joining Coventry City as their wages did not justify him moving and giving up his existing job for which he was paid quite well. Obviously he did give it up for us, so we're paying him quite well. BUT he's obviously capable of earning a decent whack in the real world.
But I don't know if this means he will continue giving his attempt at playing league football as long as possible, or say 'sod this' and go back into a normal job and pick up part time football in the future should his injury allow?

Re: Injury update
It's a shame because he looked the absolute business in the short time he was on the field against Northampton in the pre-season friendly.
Re: Injury update
From what I can gather, Tarpey is able to move about and run okay but not without a twinge in his knee which, given the ACL injury, is not something that the club expects him to play through.
Hopefully the knee specialist can work out what is going on and it's not too serious. I think it's a little too early to be talking about retirement. Callum Wilson tore his ACLs in both knees and is now playing the best football of his career.

Known as a dose of Arberitous, where the player is suddenly not good enough for non-league and yet somehow ends up in League One.wearebees wrote:No mention of Coulthirst?
If it isn't and it's family problems then I apologise to Shaq.

Re: Injury update
Seems from JS' interview last night that Shaq has some very bad family issues going on.Psycho wrote:Known as a dose of Arberitous, where the player is suddenly not good enough for non-league and yet somehow ends up in League One.wearebees wrote:No mention of Coulthirst?

It's like the pod the 6 Million Dollar Man slept in....the fact it's considered a "Minor Op" is very encouragingPsycho wrote:Never known a hospital bed to look as comfy as that!

Re: Injury update
Hopefully they've now identified what is causing him so much grief in his recovery and he can move forwards and still be a part of the team this season.
Barnet showing all the flair of Rupert-the-Bears trousers, but lots more style!
Re: Injury update
So Tarps on the bench on Saturday (disappointed he didn't get 5 minutes).
Also here's the player I feel we've missed the most:
