Rossi Eames Has Left
Rossi Eames Has Left
Enjoy his style and future ideas for the first team, just shame he got dealt a bad hand.
The success of the Academy over the decade was down to Rossi in which we won the League for the first time.
Good luck to him and won't be surprised if he takes what he learnt from here and succeeds elsewhere.

Re: Rossi Eames Has Left
He's a solid talented coach but he repeatedly allowed himself to be walked all over while he was here and failed to assert his authority, which is always going to set you back in any job.
No doubt he was poorly treated and also bloody unlucky with injuries, but after what's he's been through over the past two years he needs a fresh start.

I've been a supporter for many years and maybe getting too sentimental as I get older but some people you get to know deserve success because of their ideas and their beliefs on football. Rossi had a structure that didn't work at Barnet. Shame.... I hope he finds a way. He's a top man.

Probably best for both parties
Re: Rossi Eames Has Left
Should have gone when it didnt work out for him as 1st team boss.
Im sure he was a good coach at kids level.
Im not sure he has done wonders for the youth system, I look at our first teams over the past years and dont see many who have made the grade.

Re: Rossi Eames Has Left
a little harsh, some of these verdicts, but john still may know people who have proven themselves at the role
good luck to him
few progress through the system, but at least we now have the mechanism in place

probably not that easy to just walk away if he has a mortgage to pay etc. my opinion on his appointment as boss is well known but he always seemed to be a nice fella so I wish him well in his career & hope he has already found work elsewhere.BEEGONE wrote:Should have gone when it didnt work out for him as 1st team boss.

Some good games under Rossi (Brighton away springs to mind, great night even though we lost) would love him to have been a success, very unlucky with injuries. Nice guy, treated very disrespectfully at times. Best of luck Rossi.

I really can't understand why people feel so sorry about this.
Whilst I agree he was very unlucky with injuries, at the same time he made some decisions which have since proven to have been very significant in contributing to our relegation.
Most notably and damning for me was the fact that two of our most important players who almost saved us from the drop in the end were Sweeney and Nicholls.
If Rossi had not sidelined both of them for much of the first half of the season we would have had a much better chance of staying up. One was the central midfield defensive player we so badly needed to add steel and bite, the other turned out to be one of the most clinical finishers at the club. Both were deemed surplus to requirements and then suddenly brought back into contention months later.

I heard that he did not sideline them and that the decision was taken from above.Guiseleybee wrote:I really can't understand why people feel so sorry about this.

Then again, he really should have challenged it.

Fair enough, the management/coaching structure was all wrong at the time, if he didn't have the authority he should have done then others should also take the blame more. But on the face of it, freezing these two players out proved to be a huge and costly mistake.#Beebot wrote:I heard that he did not sideline them and that the decision was taken from above.Guiseleybee wrote:I really can't understand why people feel so sorry about this.

Sympathy for the chap after our fine start last season. For whatever reason he couldn't cope with all the injuries and that did for him.
Good luck to him for the future.

Decent bloke handed a shitty hand with a Head of Football bringing in dross (Blackman etc) a physio unable to keep our key players fit, and a Chairman whose football knowledge could kindly be described as limited.
In the current configuration this is not a club to come to if you are looking for your first management job and so it proved.
Always handled himself with dignity and integrity, probably too nice a chap to be a football manager.
I am sure he will be a big success in whatever he next does.

.
There were some games at the beginning of the season when we played some fantastic football with 2/3rds of our first team out.
I don't blame him at all for our relegation. I remember against Swindon their fans stated "I thought we were playing Barnet, how come Barcelona have turned up.". Yet even in that game, Santos was stretchered off, Blackman got a red card, and Tarpey only managed another 5 minutes of football since.
Just feel he broke too many mirrors at some point. We certainly didn't improve under the next 2 managers.
I have no insight into what was happening behind the scenes, but I do know that he was a thoroughly talented & lovely guy, and I hope we get official notification and a thank you. Even Graham Westley got that.
Although i'm still awaiting the club to confirm that Paul Fairclough has left, so I thoroughly doubt it.
