It looks like we will still be non league at the end of this season.

Re: Behind Closed-door friendly against QPR
I really don't see what can be taken from a pre-season friendly in which we played two wholly different teams for each half against a team 3 levels above us for someone to say that we look awful and will still be a non-league club at the end of the season. Seeing that the squad only went back to pre-season training at the beginning of July, this match was clearly an exercise in conditioning the squad and testing out some trialists.
Remember, we lost 10-1 at home to Arsenal in the summer of 2004.

Agree with rudebwoyben.
We learn a lot more in defeat than getting wins through pre-season. I don't think it's a coincidence that whenever we've done badly results-wise we go on to have a good season and when we beat Championship or League One sides we then tend to struggle. With a new manager getting to know last season's players I think it's even more important to find the weaker areas.

I believe so.hendon4bee wrote:Mr Erroll was this an additional behind closed doors game that JS was talking about?

Agreed, you can definitely tell how successful we'll be by a pre-season friendly behind closed doors against a Championship club with 11 subs made at halftime.talldarkslim wrote:It looks like we will still be non league at the end of this season.

It's ok, talldarkslim hasn't even once whistled Three Lions to himself in the last two weeks.NoMagRyan wrote:Agreed, you can definitely tell how successful we'll be by a pre-season friendly behind closed doors against a Championship club with 11 subs made at halftime.talldarkslim wrote:It looks like we will still be non league at the end of this season.

Re: Behind Closed-door friendly against QPR
If anything concrete can be drawn from the PSFs so far, it is that JS must now be clear as to the positions he urgently needs to fill and that he has quite a task facing him this coming season.

john admitted he needed to replace Akinde with the right player & that he wouldn't rush into signing the wrong player plus he should also has some of Nicholls & brindley's wages to play withNorfolkbee wrote:If anything concrete can be drawn from the PSFs so far, it is that JS must now be clear as to the positions he urgently needs to fill and that he has quite a task facing him this coming season.
Re: Behind Closed-door friendly against QPR
We've played two championship teams at full strength. What do people expect?! Still knows the areas we need to fill.

And I thought my glass was half empty, in truth probably right though as only two clubs won't be..talldarkslim wrote:It looks like we will still be non league at the end of this season.

A new striker should be the biggest priority now.
