Still In!

Post: # 248376Post MCB »

Confirmed
"After the debacle of last season, I decided that we needed someone who would bring stability and experience to the football management side of the club.

"The more we researched who would be the best candidate, the more the same name kept coming back.

"John knows the division better than any other manager and has won promotion from this division more times than any other manager.

"His remit is to run the football side from top to bottom and I am pleased to welcome him here and to once again work with him."

Poor old Daggers. Their official site has just announced season ticket prices. No indication yet that he's even left them...

Hoofball ((c) jerroll) returns to the Hive. Now we need to keep BJA.
When you're arguing with an idiot, make sure the other person isn't doing the same.

Only in football could we have been discussing a young unproven candidate alongside a titan like this who has been there, done it, got the tshirt, and will not be phased. I for one welcome this, looking forward to seeing who he brings with him, and whether he can persuade the other big John to stay.

Barnet and still going for their 4th title. Him with 4 different clubs, us with 4 different managers.

MA always does the same - must've learnt it off JS!

Excellent that an appointment has been made. Glad we've gone for someone who has experience in winning in non league. Style of football - who cares?! All about results / winning / promotion etc.

Definition of a proper manager! Akinde has played under John before so hopefully John keep him.

Really pleased with this appointment. This is the right manager at the right point in time for our club.
And we've done the deal early too. Plenty of time for John to sort things out this close season.
Barnet showing all the flair of Rupert-the-Bears trousers, but lots more style!

I'm not sure how you could be underwhelmed by this appointment. I'm pretty sure he has the best record in terms of getting teams out of the Conference. Some say his brand of football isn't pretty but that hasn't always been the case and even if it was, surely the end justifies the mean? We all wanted Allen to stay, but actually MA often turned to Still for advice so really we've got the teacher to Mad Dog himself.

Not sure what more you could ask for really.

Glad we've done this early - plenty of time to get things in order for next season. And can't argue with the experience he has, just hope he's still hungry for success. Maybe he can convince Akinde to stay??
