Gambin has impressed in recent weeks for the Hatters, playing a big role in points picked up against Cambridge United and the Sky Blues. However, the 25-year-old has been called up by the Malta international side, which means he will be unavailable for selection against his former side Barnet a week on Saturday.

"We would have liked to have a bit of a compromise on it, but it's not to be," Jones explained. "I have got a relationship with their manager, their new manager. To be fair he's just come in, so he's trying to get as much of a feel-good factor and so he wants all of his best players to go and Luke fortunately or unfortunately is one of his better players, one of his full-time players and one that he can call on from overseas.

"It's slightly frustrating for us and for Luke. It's understandable but it doesn't make it any easier to swallow.

The last I knew Gambin was out of favour at Luton, I'm pleased to read that that's no longer the case.

Sorry this isn't in the spirit but I can't make the game. I called the Queens Arms and they said they don't have sky sports. Is this definitely correct? Must be a recent thing.

Your best bet would be the railway in new Barnet. Weavers will probably have the Munster rugby on.

From memory sausage rolls and pies - don't think chips were on menu.

Nervously spending the 3pm games watching our relegation rivals. Coventry up against Grimsby. They're the key. If we can be within 6 points when we go there, that gives us a great chance to beat them and be within striking range.

Crewe winning at Newport. Hopefully the home side will sort them out in the 2nd half. FGR and Morecambe both 0-0 in their games. Given our opponents, any sort of advantage gained on our rivals is a bonus today.

Blackman? Really hope MA knows what he's doing here - looks like he rates him over Akinola?

Good to see JT back and Sweeney as DM will be interesting, let's hope he can protect Clough and link defence and midfield.

Hopefully we'll see the best of Curtis playing further forward.

Like the idea of Sweeney protecting tthe back 4. Not sure about Blackman on the left wing, unless it's a defensive minded role. At least MA has valued Jack Taylor in his first XI.
