The Run In
The Run In
So as stated in a previous post, I've had a look at how many points relegated teams in recent seasons have gone down with.
2014/15
Cheltenham pts 41
Tranmere pts 39
2015/16
Daggers . 34
York City . 34
2016/17
Hartlepool . 46
Orient . 36
It's clear that this season's points total is going to be more than the 2015/16 season. In 2012/13, we were relegated with a whopping 51 points! A freak of a season, that tally would normally have teams finishing between 16th and 19th place based on recent seasons.
To match that, we'd have to win 8 and draw one of our remaining 12 fixtures. I reckon this season, we'd need 43 to be safe. 17 more points. We need to win 5 and draw two or we need to win 6 of our remaining fixtures.
Colchester . D
Port Vale W
Coventry . L
Wycombe . L
Luton . L
Crewe . W
Stevenage . D
Forest Green W
Grimsby . L
Newport . W
Morecombe . D
Chesterfield . W
Well that's my prediction of where we can pick up points. A very winnable 18 points there. Time for the lads to step up.
What do others think?

On what basis do you make 43 points enough?

Re: The Run In
The problem this season is our inability to hang on to a lead. So far this season we have dropped 19 points from games where we have taken the lead
Carlisle - 5
Accrington - 2
Cheltenham - 2
Lincoln - 2
Chesterfield - 3
Yeovil - 2
Exeter - 3
If we could have seen these games out we would be comfortably mid table, and unless we can sort that out we're doomed.

I looked at the remaining fixtures and form of the other teams around us and did a similar likely prediction of the remaining 12 games. Of course I could wrong, but I reckon w'll need 43 pointsBeesKnees wrote:On what basis do you make 43 points enough?
