5 for £50 Offer
This should be a very good offer for non-members who expect to attend at least 5 home games between now and the end of March.
https://www.barnetfc.com/news/2017/dece ... christmas/
I bought one of the cards today in the expectation (confirmed by the club) that I would be able to use it to get entrance to the South Stand for 5 games of my choice up to the end of March. After a bit of confusion, and some good improvising by Club Shop staff on the ticket system, I managed to use it to get into today’s game (they printed a ticket for today’s game on the card itself). However I am still completely unclear on how It is supposed to work.
My expectation was that I would get a card that I could use like a standard membership card at South Stand turnstiles for the 5 games I wanted to use it for. I hadn’t really thought about how this would work for the West Stand seats until I realised the South Stand was closed today. Clearly you can’t just have a card to the West Stand for an undefined seat without a very high risk of occupying a full member’s seat in error.
I am now quite baffled about how this offer works in practice and how I make use of it for the other 4 games I have paid to see. I have asked the club to clarify and will share any replies I get. As things stand I think it might involve a fairly complex conversation at the box office for another 4 games.

Re: 5 for £50 Offer
We were told that you buy the ticket now but then you will need to visit the club shop in the new year to tell them which matches you want to go to and get your seat allocation. Apparently there will be an announcement as to when to go in (ie. they don't know yet!)
Not quite sure how you managed to use it today though....!

The Club Shop allocated the tickets. If they had told us what they told you we priobably wouldn’t have bought them.LadyBee wrote:We were told that you buy the ticket now but then you will need to visit the club shop in the new year to tell them which matches you want to go to and get your seat allocation. Re: 5 for £50 Offer
Assuming Carlisle does not get moved then that will be the first of my 5 matches. I have emailed the club seeking confirmation that I simply go to the ticket office on the 6th January and pick my matches and seats and go from there.

Is anyone offended by me saying I am getting a bit sick of hearing about these offers that people criticise, while I'm watching some of the most underwelming football (and experiencing a moody atmosphere at the club generally) that I have witnessed in my 49 regular seasons - and I'm paying a Direct Debit of a lot more per game every month than 10 quid a game? I haven't asked for a refund but it it is crossing my mind. I have never felt like this before and I am looking forward more to an away trip to Exeter with a my band of brothers rather than a home game in front of 1000 fans!

Barnet vs Grimsby - £21.25Postby MCB » 16 Nov 2017, 11:46
It would be an interesting point for many (or a few) to know how much you pay if you take advantage of all the offers that come up.
For example, since August, we've had 9 home League games.
I pay for Hive Membership - £2 a month - and get 15% off West Stand tickets - so £21.25
Mansfield & Yeovil were Buy 1 get 1 free (no discount so £12.50 a ticket)
Coventry City was free
Let's assume Grimsby has no offers - so 10 home league games - since August, i'd have spent £181.75 on match tickets (£21.25 x 7+ £12.50 + £12.50 + £2 x 4) (average £18.17 per game)
The West Stand Membership is £36 per month - so would have spent £144 (average £14.40 per game).
That's ignoring any offers / perks for West Stand Membership, getting the same seat each game, not faffing around ordering tickets.
Barnet vs Morecambe - £12.50 (not sure if Hive Membership discount applied?)
Barnet vs Cheltenham - £12.50
Barnet vs Swindon Town - £10
Barnet vs Carlisle- £10
Barnet vs Lincoln City- £10
Barnet vs Notts County- £10
Barnet vs Accrington Stanley- £10
Barnet vs Port Vale - £21.25
Barnet vs Wycombe- £21.25
Barnet vs Crewe- £21.25
That's all games up to end of March - and assuming no more offers for the 5 for £50 games.
So from August - March if i'd have taken up all the offers I would have paid + £156.25 + £181.75 = £338 / 21 = £16.09 a game
If you had West Stand Membership you would have paid £36 x 8 = £288 = £13.71 a league game (excluding all cup matches).
So up to the end of March you're still paying 15% less per game, and sitting with mates, regular seat, etc etc.
So stop moaning about the moaning!

Re: 5 for £50 Offer
Personally not moaning about the offer which is very good. The execution is as always seems to be the case woeful. The staff in the club shop clearly hadn’t been told how the 5 for £50 offer works, the website announcement and product collateral aren’t clear either. It is just basic stuff and how Andrew Adie has the gall to criticise the club shop staff for not correctly guessing what they are supposed to do is beyond me. If that is what he really said he needs to take a look at himself.Reckless wrote:Is anyone offended by me saying I am getting a bit sick of hearing about these offers that people criticise, while I'm watching some of the most underwelming football (and experiencing a moody atmosphere at the club generally) that I have witnessed in my 49 regular seasons - and I'm paying a Direct Debit of a lot more per game every month than 10 quid a game? Knowing how you like a bit of nostalgia it is all Andrew Adie’s fault Reckless !

Assuming no membership joining fee? Remember if this is the case do you not need to factor in the close season months where £36 is still being paid.MCB wrote:Yup! - But updating my old thread -Reckless wrote:Is anyone offended by me saying I am getting a bit sick of hearing about these offers

£36 x 12 months = £432 - with joining fee £468
Thats is £18.78 per game or £20.35 with the joining fee
I think you only get the friendlies and the JPT thrown in for free?

I'm only doing it as I go along - you're making assumptions though, and if there are more offers it may well be the case that being a casual supporter works out a lot cheaper. I also had a £2 joing fee not taken into account

Can't stand auditors so I'll leave that to Foxy...!RichardM wrote: I hope your calculations have been audited.
Fundamentally I believe that season ticket holders / members should never pay more than casual fans. I think it will be close this year overall though, but the club can give an impression sometimes that members get a raw deal which I don't think is the case.
Re: 5 for £50 Offer
I couldn't give a monkeys. I pay my membership and treat it as a sunk cost. If these deals attract more casuals then all well and good. I like where I sit in the ground. My membership guarantees me that seat when I choose to go. Even the dross we sometimes witness is palatable. It makes the good times even sweeter.

Re: 5 for £50 Offer
Same deal as a golf club really.
Members pay a fee for full rights.
Others come along and pay as they play for partial rights.
And various deals (4 for 3, Twilight, free rounds on teetimes.co.uk, groupon deals etc.) bring even more in.
Tried and tested approach. Though I would say I expect the fans and TK wish that take up was such that less one off deals were required.

It's all due to the quality of football and results, although I can't remember a time where these deals were so prevalent.BeeBoi1980 wrote:Same deal as a golf club really.
