Mauro - when's his testimonial due?
Mauro - when's his testimonial due?
Amazed to think that he is only 24. And yet every year since 2011 we've asked if this is his breakthrough season, where he consistently starts - yet he made 43 appearances last season, so I think he's now a fundamental part of our team, even if i'm not sure of his strongest position.
But my question is - does anyone know when he actually joined us? I'm thinking about his testimonial! His first game for us was the relegation clash with Grimsby Town on 01 May 2010. Do you count 10 years from when he joined us? Or from his first appearance?
Could he have his testimonial as early as next season, when he's 25? What an achievement that would be.

I believe he joined us in summer 2009 after he stole the show when Barnet FITC won the Kickz cup at Stamford Bridge. Which resulted in Chelsea and Villa wanting him for trials and PF was finally convinced to take a look at him.

I love it that Mauro has been written off as a part of our squad several times and he's shown the ability and determination to prove that he still is.
That was a lovely goal he scored at Peterborough last week.

I can't even remember who else in recent years has got close to it. Lee Harrison. Barry Fry. Nicky Evans. Anyone else?
But none of them are unbroken stints. Who have I forgotten Jerroll?

I don't think so. He first played for us in 01/02 and left at the end of 09/10.tpBEE wrote:Surely Yak is over 10 years? He joined us when he was at school

The Yak got within a year or two of a testimonial & Paul Wilson had one against West Ham.

Re: Mauro - when's his testimonial due?
agreed although he is a victim of his own versatility as he looked a natural in central midfield in the 2 1/2 games prior to Harry's injury on Saturday.Mr Smart wrote:For me the WB role is made for himMickbee wrote:By people who don't know jack shite about football.
