Braintree (a) The Wet Wet Wet Match Thread
So..... Tuesday sees the bees make the short trip to Essex to take on Braintree. Having already visited Maidstone it seems likely this is a contractual element of the Akinola deal.
I feel it in my fingers I feel it in my bones that rain is all around me and on the pitch it goes.
If the game goes ahead then hopefully a return to familiar territory will benefit sim.
I would give some of the fringe players of our 31 man squad a run out so....

Doing this one by train. Hope it goes ahead.

Re: Braintree (a) The Wet Wet Wet Match Thread
The pitch at Braintree had extensive drainage work done on it last summer and no games were postponed in the 2016/17 season. Sim's transfer did indeed include the arrangement of this pre-season friendly. The Iron are having to rebuild for the second season running following their relegation from the Bananarama National League, under the guidance of club legend and record appearance holder Brad Quinton who did well with Enfield last season. He's brought several players over from Enfield and has instilled a passing game, which has been good to watch pre-season. Alas, the 3 strikers who had signed - George Sykes, Nigel Neita and Liam Enver-Marum have all left the club leaving them light upfront. Saturday's pairing for the Colchester game was ex-Enfield pair Harry Ottaway (not impressed) and Darnell Wynter.
Hope to see a few familiar faces around Cressing Road tomorrow.

My friend from work in on trial with them too - Michael Campbell. He is also a striker. I think he scored in his only appearance thus far but is not involved tomorrow. I am not going as I have an early start the next day.

Interesting. He would make sense as Akinde cover. Question marks over his fitness though.BeeArmy wrote:Barry Corr @BarryCorr10

If we do take Barry Corr on, I wonder if it will be on similar terms to Izale McLeod when we helped him get over his injury and in return gave us 2 years honest service

Re: Braintree (a) The Wet Wet Wet Match Thread
As long as he looks to be over the knee injury, and is willing to play for a minor contract, with goal bonuses, I'd say it's a no brainer. He's unemployed so we would hold the upper hand but we certainly don't want another Lisbie or Batt situation.

Interesting, although it should be noted that's an anonymous fan account, not Barry Corr himself. So he may be on trial at a League 2 Club, but he may very well be snorkelling in Mauritius.BeeArmy wrote:Barry Corr @BarryCorr10

I had a dream that Corr signed for us, but it was only when I sleep...
