Gimsby (KFC) The Dead Rubber Chicken Match Thread
So..... after a season of ups and downs we complete our league hoof (c. Jerroll) fixtures at the theatre of doom, THL. With fears that Grimsby may bring, inflatables, a mariachi band, or even worse, and atmosphere to the training ground, this promises to be an enjoyable fixture.
After Rossi Eames Barnetcelona team eased passed a dreadful Hartlepool side, spirits are definitely lifted, with many seeing this as the way to end our season with a bang-bang, whereas a couple of weeks ago we were on a wing and a prayer. It will just be nice to enjoy a game with nothing riding on it, while keeping abreast of how the other teams are getting on. Nelson and Champion will be wary of autograph hunters for what will likely be their final Kleandos. fixture.
Although Grimsby fans do have a reputation for some fishy behaviour, it is sad the club have denied them their cod given right to bring the party to the hive. After Bignot's departure, I am sure they have haddock about enough of managers running their team down and will be convinced their players are now swimming in the larger waters of league 2 as if they were prawn to I.
In terms of starting XI I hope we take this one seriously as we will be skating on thin ice if we lose another Hive game, and putting in another defeat in the record books will put Tony in between a rock and a hard place when it comes to season ticket renewals. I would therefore go for a strong starting XI as follows:-
-------------------------------Vickers------------------------
--H. Taylor---------Santos---------Nelson-------Tutonda--
--------------Champion--------J. Taylor-------Weston------
-Campbell-Ryce------------Akinde------------Akinola-------
Subs: KML, Clough, Johnson, Fonguck, Shomotun, Coulson, S. Akinde
Looking forward to this game after an occasionally exciting season which petered out somewhat.
COYBS!
Edit: ta jerroll

surely Vickers deserves to be on the bench having kept a clean sheet at Hartlepool!

Our ref for Saturday is Sebastian Stockridge.
He has also refereed our games at Mansfield (we won 1 0), at Grimsby (2 2) and at Exeter (lost 2 1). I didn't attend these games. Is he ok?

Whatever he's like, he will be a picnic compared to that clown we had 2 weeks ago against Wycombe.
Barnet showing all the flair of Rupert-the-Bears trousers, but lots more style!

Seems odd to have the same referee allocated twice in four games!
