2016/17 Attendances
Re: 2016/17 Attendances
The feel-good factor is back.
The chairman is investing in good signings.
The academy players coming through.
The quality of the football.
We now seem to have a long term game plan,on and off the pitch, that looks extremely positive.
Supporters are excited again.

I'll be in Rome....Edd1 wrote:At the risk of being cynical....
Attendances normally go up around Christmas, it was against the team who are top who we've already beaten. I think a decent turnout was to be expected.
For me a bigger test will be Notts County on 21 Jan. Home games consecutive weekends, everyone feeling skint, possibly losing weekend before, uninspiring opposition.

All those things could have an effect but the crowd will still be a lot better than it would have been if things had carried on as they were before MA left. There is a completely different and positive vibe about the place.Edd1 wrote:At the risk of being cynical....

Amazing what an attacking youthful performance does to a supporter base!

Re: 2016/17 Attendances
I haven't fully worked it out yet and like Edd, I'm not convinced the Plymouth game was typical due to no London premiership clubs playing at the same time plus it being a day off work and not a bank holiday as such.
It's encouraging though and the last two home games have definitely had better football to watch, matched to a better crowd and this will lead to more coming back. I'm sticking with my original prediction of 1650 average home support. Next home game I suspect we will have around 1500 home support unless some offers\ freebies are available.

Re: 2016/17 Attendances
As has been said before, it is better to judge after an "ordinary" January Saturday afternoon. Even the crowd for the Doncaster game (which sadly I will miss) is likely to be inflated due to the opposition. Newport will be the real acid test when various factors will come into play, notably the opposition, Barnet's form and even the weather.
Re: 2016/17 Attendances
I'm not convinced there will be much difference in the home support between those two games tbh. If anything it could go the other way if we beat Doncaster and are in a play off position.
Also the premiership fixtures are kinder on the 21st for casual support.

I agree with all of the above! I will be there for both games, the 14th & 21st,especially the latter as it's my birthday & I expect the boys to provide me a 3 point present!Itai-bee wrote:The feel-good factor is back.

I love Luisma & really miss his skils!

Is our home support increasing ? I assume 2500 home fans is the largest for some considerable time ?

I thought yesterday's crowd was one, one and a half million, period!
