Ebbsfleet v Barnet

Postby alanweufc » 16 Sep 2020, 14:31

Seems we drew 2-2 this afternoon in a practice match - with Barnet twice taking the lead and Ebbsfleet equalising on both occasions a cording to the Ebbsfleet Twitter. There is a match report on your club website.

This was the first of two "un-announced" fixtures behind closed doors. I assume the next one will be Saturday.
3 trialists started the game. One played the full 90 mins, one got an hour, the other came off at HT. Two others came on in the second half. One would like to think that a decision on these players will be made in the next few days. They might get one final opportunity to impress on Saturday.
Good to hear that JJ scored in his first outing. We can also deduce from the report that Eliot Richards will be on corner taking duty. Hopefully his delivery is good and will cause problems. That's one thing we've lacked for ages, a quality dead ball specialist. Sparkes had his moments, but he wasn't good enough to start week in week out.
Barnet showing all the flair of Rupert-the-Bears trousers, but lots more style!

spurised no ones noticed/felt it was important enough to say that 2 of the trialists were 'tafari' (moore) and someone called 'kaliq' or something with that sort of spelling. PB referenced them in his post match interview

The right back is 100% definitely Tafari Moore then. Looks like he played 90 minutes today.

Difficult 6 couple of years but league pedigree at Plymouth and Colchester. A local kid.

Also apparently a devout rastafarian.

That's an odd one, released by QPR at the end of his scholarship a year ago and no activity since then (at least that I can find)

I can't even find a picture of him online, otherwise I'm sure I'd be able to tie him up to one of the trialists I saw on Saturday. Apparently he's a winger/forward so I'm guessing he may have been the #8 up top against Hitchin, who looked decent.

I see that also released from Plymouth alongside Tafari Moore was winger Joel Grant, who has always looked a classy player in his many matches against us. Plus I believe he was the man who took the penalty that was so brilliantly saved by Graham Stack in the dying moments of football at Underhill. A bona fide history-maker - sign him up!

Khaliq Raymond-Callender is born 2001 and listed as a right wing midfielder. Was at QPR and played in the U18 with Paul Furlong as a coach.
