That's exactly my point.

Hunt, Hoskins, Pavey, Mekki Stevens, Lowe etc etc etc all deserve a medal ahead of non-players. The bus driver just makes it ridiculous.

They played and he didn't. He drives the bloody bus!

To be honest the club should pay for more medals which is an option, and give everyone a medal. Maybe they have done that.

Have you not understood Martin Allen? He brings together a group of people to achieve an aim, gets them close, gets them working together, running through walls together. You are either part of that or you are not. MA talked about the work Omar has done, how key the physio Jade has been, not just in their analyst/physio jobs but also as kitmen, bottle washers etc.

He is not ‘just a driver’, he actually gets to see and hear a lot of confidential information, I am sure there has been lots of interesting things that have happened and been said on the coach. He has obviously become part of the team around the players.

MA has obviously got him involved and made him part of the group that became champions and obviously felt he deserved recognition for the part he has played in the promotion.

As for KMB, as a wise man was overheard saying....'here is what you could have won'. Only one person to blame that he wasn't on the pitch collecting a medal.

Adam Mekki and David Hunt made more league starts than KMB, Bernand Mensah is only just off league games (and goals).

But I hope the club will simply buy medals for everyone - this shouldn't be a sour issue in a great season. I note KMB has deleted his tweets...

This.
KMB got thrown out of Allens gang so doesn't get a reward. Like it or not that's the way it is.

If I were a rich man I would buy and award a further 5233 medals.

Apparently, MA made a point in his post match press conference of listing the various players that had been on loan etc so they clearly haven't been forgotten.

The bus driver was also at the Xmas awards and received due recognition, being invited up to the stage ahead of the players. As has been noted, MA created a 'team' that resulted in winning the league. He placed great emphasis (at Xmas) on people 'off the field' who were contributing to the success of the team such as the driver, physio, Nurse, Stack, Omar etc.

Isnt this all just conjecture? Does anyone actually know the full list of medal receivers? We may just be banging on about nothing! (I know - hard to believe  )

If the club consider the coach driver's contribution to have been sufficiently material to warrant giving him one of the medals then fair play, who are we to say otherwise?

As for players, it could be argued that Sam Hoskins goal in a 1-0 win was worth more to us ( 2 points) than KMB's goal in a 0-5 win and a 1-2 loss. I very much doubt Hoskins ever expected a medal and nor should KMB.

Well said Pete, you have summed up the situation perfectly.

During MA's first stint I worked with the wife of the bus driver. I'd suggest he gets them more involved in the team than most clubs. I don't see an issue with the current driver getting a medal.

The bus driver!

What about the Groundsman then?

Or the guy that won the award, (the cleaner)?

What about the bar staff or the stewards?

I think the media guy does good work. What about him?

Why doesn't MA's dog get one?

You just can't give a medal to a bus driver and not give it to a player. It's just wrong and it makes us look unprofessional, (which seems to be our issue with KMB in the first place).

When you win something in football, the players get the awards and the acolades, (not the bus driver!)
Well I think my son should get a medal for NOT going to the Gateshead match and putting mockers on our team winning like he normally does when he goes!

KMB has retweeted a tweet that indicates he hasn't got a medal and has got the league involved and is awaiting a response.

Excellent point Barnetpete.....EXACTLY what MA is all about, from top to bottom.....everyone is on the bus!
