Ben Embery played over 400 games for Barnet in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s. One of the best centre halfs I have seen play for us.

Our club badge which features the red rose of Lancashire and the white rose of Yorkshire is very appropriate as we are playing a club from Yorkshire in Lancashire.

We played Carlisle in the Trophy at Morecambe when their pitch was under water Oh yes, I remember that one now. Any others? In the 1962/3 season we switched an FA Amateur cup match to Enfield as the Underhill pitch was unplayable. I think, but not 100% certain, our opponents were Cray Wanderers.

I really want to go to the game next Saturday but I’m not going to buy train tickets in advance because of the risk of losing my money. This has happened to me before because of a game being called off.
